I've been planning on attending again. Was real disappointed with my last time out so will hopefully do much better this time. Found the problem with my roll control so now I can get the tires hot. Also got rid of that nasty Holley 850 and replaced it with a Pro Systems unit, after you'd recommended them so highly. It sure feels better but the clocks will tell the truth. I'll try real hard to not red light on you next time. ha.

Those Pro-System carbs are the stuff. I bet your car hammers like mad now.

Is this a good event for a complete newbie to try his hand at racing? Or is this primarily more for experienced racers?

This is an excellent time for newbies. There are very few cars running and you can get lots of practice runs. The track personnel are used to beginners and will give you lots of assistance if you need it. Its also fun to see some of the very expensive cars get thrashed and run like they were intended to be run. Beware, there will probably be one nasty big black Mercedes that runs in the very low 11's and its quite a shock to have this sporty luxury car blow your doors off.

You would have a great time. There's no need to try and win any contest either. Often times I just fart around on the strip testing things. Give it a go on your first try with slow start and easy shifts and then try things a little better each time. There's no need to thrash the car to have fun, and there will be plenty of other people to explain the general deal staging and such.

It's a great event. The tech inspection is a bit subdued on club days, so you can get away with less requirement for faster runs. Be sure to have long pants, close toe shoes and a jacket with long sleeves. If they want arm restraints or fire jacket anyone is welcome to borrow mine.

If anyone has questions before hand, I'm not really an expert, but I'd be happy to share what I know.
