Should be there unless it is 105. Yes Jim,.,.m,......I have forgotten to check the schedule. Getting old and forgot....

Maricopa 04-25-2007 02:24 PM

We'll be there unless it's 106º. ;)

dave from mesa 04-25-2007 02:39 PM

Wifey and I should be there also.

Karl Bebout 04-25-2007 05:51 PM

My sweetie and I are planning on it. It won't be all that hot up in Strawberry. Meet at the Fountain Hills gas station (Shea and the Bee Line), take off about 10-ish?

Pinkster, is there food available in Strawberry?

dave from mesa 04-25-2007 05:58 PM

Karlos
Want to go together? What time is good?

Karl, probably. Not familiar with the restaurant and the parking situation in Strawberry. We could always do Christopher Creek instead. Don't matter to me.

I could be wrong but, I think the only building in Strawberry is the lodge. Strawberry is really more like an intersection. There is nothing west of the intersection. Use to go there hiking/swimming with my boys when they were smaller. The town of Pine is only about 3 miles south of Strawberry. Pine has gas/food. Used to go there when my boys were in Boy Scouts. The Tonto bridge is near also. Interesting site/walk.

Satuday trip

Just FYI Strawberry is a tad bit more than an intersection but it is limited. There is a resturant just before you get into town on the left, it used to be called black bear, further into Strawberry you have the chalette an kaddie corner from that is the hotel/lodge.

Try stopping at Jakes corner on the way up. Turn off towards roosevelt lake about 3 miles up on the right. Plenty of parking and real freindly race fans. :MECOOL:

Can't wait to have mine finished to be able to drive with you guys.

Dennis

You guys/gals have fun. I'm getting ready to go into work. I need to be there about midnight.

Mike

Maricopa 04-27-2007 11:29 PM

Sorry you won't be making it Mike. I'm out here checking for loose stuff so's nuttin' falls of'n the car.

P.S. My wife bailed on the trip, she was out all day in the sun at a school event and got a little dehydrated, so my 14yr old daughter is going instead. So all you animals be on your best behaviour! (I know, I know. No Rules! ;) )

mikiec 04-28-2007 02:19 AM

Now I wish I was able to make it.... I'de love to see the smile on her face again.

It's now about 1:30am about 2 more hours to go.

Mike

Maricopa 04-28-2007 08:09 AM

Yeah she was excited....Now we'll see whether she's excited when she has to get up before 11am on a Saturday. ;)
She's done more miles with me that anyone else so far. Even asked the other day whether we had any 'girls' in the Cobra club that owned their own Cobras. I may have created a monster!

If you're off at 3:30 that's plenty of time to get to the gas station by 10! :D

Yeah that's what I think. Gez Mike how much sleep do you need?

mikiec 04-28-2007 04:08 PM

Dave,

I need plenty of sleep, and I am not a morning person. Remember I'm still working, whereas you can nap during the day. :D :D

Actually I got home about 5am. Woke up at 11:30 to do some honey dos...

I hope every one had a good time.

Mike

Maricopa 04-28-2007 05:41 PM

Glad you got in your beauty sleep. We all had a great time and a full dose of solar radiation. Jessica is now fully initiated into the world of lawlessness and mayhem that is the AZ Cobras....I don't know if she will ever be the same. ;)

We made it home before the storm that tailed us all the way back. A couple people stayed in Payson to check out a car show, I hope they beat it back too.

dave from mesa 04-28-2007 05:49 PM

Yeah we just missed a big dust storm then rain by about 15 min.
We had a great time and the food was good.
Will post some pics later.

How'd you know about that nap???

Maricopa 04-28-2007 06:41 PM

Santa sees you when you're sleeping too Dave......
