Question PIR Road Course 11/24

Anyone else going or want to go drive the PIR road course on 11/24?

CRA/NASA is running their last track day of the year that weeknend. I'm planning to go and get a feel for the new engine and have some fun.

I'm taking the Lister to Firebird Main with Proautosports on Saturday instead. One of these days I would like to do PIR but since Proautosports does not go there I will need to join NASA first. Have fun.

54h,

Did not stay for the main. Wife and kids and duties call...

Car ran good. Power is high. I never shifted out of 3rd (slushbox). Out of turn nine, I'd wait until straight and if I jumped on the gas too hard, the tires would blow away. Definately needs finesse to drive with the amount of torque in the new motor.

I do need to work on my braking as I spun going into turn nine during hard braking in the bumpy area. Still have a lot to learn, but I think I got into the 1:17 range. I hear Brian is down to the 15s.

Were you the black spec racer in group2?

You know, this is too much fun and the others need to get out and try this stuff. Not sure why so few track the cars.

Yes, that was me in group 2. Second time out after completing the cobra build. Still shakin out the bugs.

First time out was on street tires, this time was on slicks. Wow, amazing.

Now I just need to learn how to drive well.
I agree, this stuff is addicting. With all the Cobra's in Phoenix, don't know why more people aren't doing this.

What kit do you have, and how did you set it up?

54h

Car is a midstates built in 1992 with C4 corvette front and rear IRS. Still has the transverse springs. I'd like to go to coil-overs, but $$$$ to change over plus some fabrication... Works pretty wel, though as-is.

It has been down for 16 months waiting for the install of the new engine. I went from a 427BBC to a 540BBC. Haltech fuel injection still being tuned just right. Really too much engine, but you only live once . I'm on two year old toyo RA1 tires and they need replaced.

See ya at the track. I'll stop and say Hi next time.
