Default Carb Tuning in Phoenix

I'm struggling a little with my carb. I pulled it off last week and sent to Bigs Performance to check it over, they had prep'd based on the engine setup. It's a holley 4 barrel with the choke milled off sitting on top the roots supercharger. I bought the carb new several years ago and just recently put it to use. Mark Dougherty did his best to adjust but suggested sending it back as something did not seem right.

I expect to get help from Bigs (out of state vendor), but would like to know local resources that could help with future carb tuning. I'm not sure if using the roots narrows the list of people you would recommend. While waiting on the carb I ordered a few books as I really don't know anything about how to adjust the carb.

Mike, Try Ahren Strumph at Ultimate Automotive.. 480-228-3402. He's a pain in the butt to listen to, but he knows carburetors.

I hope you bought

Super Tuning and Modifying Holley Carburetors by Dave Emanuel.

I have tons of Holley books and that is the best by a wide margin.

Thanks for the contacts. I'm still waiting on Bigs to let me know if they found any problem and send the carb back.

Warren - I did get that book and just received it today, looks very good!

It's hard to be patient and sit waiting for my carb to come back. I only put ~40 miles on the car before I parked and pulled it off.

Just to close this item out. I got the carb back from Bigs and it runs excellent now, right out of the box. Jesse was easy to get a hold of and talk to. It was a really good experience.

I appreciate the contacts for carb help, I'll keep those in mind for the future.
