Dave,
John has closed up shop for now. Not sure what the future will bring. My motor is here but not in the car yet. That should happen in a few days. John is involved with getting it back in for me and I'm talking to him direct. My Cobra was supposed to be at Barrett-Jackson on display but it won't be ready in time. I'll keep you all posted.

Tim,
It's a bummer it isn't in yet but the bright side is at least it is in town now. I am sure John will be true to his word and get it back in for you. Was it going to be at the Roush booth or Superformance?

I'd keep the car off the wheel dyno for at least 1000 miles and break it in easy. Warm it up very good if you put it on the wheel dyno again. You'll probably have a solid engine for years to come. Just an opinion.

they run it on the dyno it should be broke in by the time they're done with it.

The Booth at the Barret-Jackson is a large area backed by the Roush/Superformance semi-trailer. It also includes Selby and last year a Backdraft. Last year we had 7 cars there plus all of Roush's motors. I will be there Sunday to visit and back on Friday the 16th to represent SCOF.

Why not take it there as is.
I bet lots of people there would be "interested" to see it.
I am sorry you are going through this.

It is so close to becoming a whole car again I'm just going to leave well enough alone. There is always next year. I'll be at the show probably Saturday, but w/o my Cobra.

Spooky, coming up on four months since you stasrted this thread. WOW, you've sure got tons of patience. I could never have been as nice with either Roush or the folks from Antem as you've been. Hope it all eventually works out for you, but jeezus!

I don't mean to put words in Tim's mouth but I remember him saying this is his busiest season of the year. His food service takes care of the FBR open which starts this week. I am sure he is simply busy busy busy.

Well after a long wait I am up and running. I have my car back and the motor is in. I wanted to thank NO Limits Auto a new shop in North Phx. Rob Varetoni is the owner and was one of Anthem Motors Head mechanics. He now has his own shop and is going to be an authorized Roush dealer. As we all know Anthem has closed their doors but John Panfil worked closely with owner Rob to complete my Cobra and make it whole again. All in all a great group of guys that left nobody hanging and came through in the end. I also wanted to thank Todd Andrews from Roush that had tremendous follow through with the updating of my 511 the whole time. I'll put a separate post about Rob Varetoni's new shop NO Limit Auto.

I had a general conversation with Jim at No Limits and he said their plan is to make the customer pay up front for any Roush warranty work and then the customer would be required to deal with the Roush factory directly to get reimbursed. Sadly such a policy would be a show-stopper for me, and I hope this was misinformation or they change their minds. I say misinformation because I have trouble believing Roush would allow such a policy from an authorized dealer.
I have dealt with Rob before and he is a good guy and I wish them prosperity and success.
Dominik -- Yes, some people have happy lives outside of their Cobra and four months can pass and they don't even miss the car. I say good for Spoooky.

Hi Sandy!
I hear what you say, and that is good. One of my dealers in Europe got sued for "loss of fun" because the car arrived late. Sort of an "upgrade" to late arrival penalty, which he also got sued for.
I remember Phoenix as a nice place to be, even without Cobra :-)

SandyC, No Limit Auto was great to deal with. It did not cost me a dime. They billed Roush, and I left one very happy Cobra owner.

Spoooky, glad to hear you had a happy end result. Did you get new dyno numbers with the new engine upgrades?

Cobred,

Roush requires PREauthorization prior to any work. So the shop should not be out one cent if they do not do the work before Roush authorizes. If the shop does work prior to authorization then it is their fault. If roush authorizes the shop will be reimburesed. Nobody likes to read contracts, you will also read that Roush is only liable for $5K on any engine, that is what would concern me!!
