I think Karl called it.. Sounds like a warmer plan than Payson and a shorter plan than Arivaca. Superior/Winkleman/Catalina...Lunch...home. Whatchathink?

Looking
Hey Guys,
I'm looking to get a BDR, my problem is trying to decide on a engine for it. Currently I'm looking at the 342R Roush or 392 Stroker. If anyone has one of these I can see, hear and ask some questions it would be greatly appreciated. I live in Scottsdale
Thanks Little T

How can I talk you guys out of coming down to the Tucson area on Jamuary 24th ? A few of our guys will be showing their Cobras at the Tubac car show, it is the largest show in our area, it's limited to 500 cars. Many of our guys are planning to go down there and provide support to the show guys. Therefore, I can't even hope that we could have three guys join you for lunch. On the good side, I have found two good restaurants that you might enjoy eating at, they are: San Manuel, go to the golf course on the north side of town, good food, normal prices, nice accomdations including a huge fireplace that they use. Saddlebrooke, go to the Mountain View golf club house or restaurant. They are open to the public and both have good food and nice surroundings. If you could change your drive to January 31st we would love to join you guys. As an alternate drive for the 24th would you consider this thought. From Phoenix drive south on I-10 to exit #162, follow route #347 ( Maricopa Rd. )southwest to the town of Maricopa. Turn right. (west) on route #238 for about 6.5 miles to the Estrella Sailport. Enjoy yourselves for 1/2 hour there watching the gliders. Return on #238 to Maricopa and turn right (south) on #347. Drive for about 12 miles to Peters Corners and turn left (East) on route #84. Continue east on #84 for about 10 miles to the Francisco Grande. Have lunch at this famous hotel, enjoy the photos of the baseball players from the 1950's and walk the hallways, look at the old ballfields, and think of the history that occurred here. From there either return to Phoenix OR go into Casa Grande and enjoy at Dairy Queen. John

Warm and fuzzy at the moment.
I'm up for just about anything, just point the way.

I'm just as non-commmmmital as Maricopa Mike. 24, 31, 77 hike. I can do either one, or both. Shame to waste this great weather. The only reason I'd prefer the 24th is that its sooner.

I say... Let's wait until the 31st. for John. This way we can do some more bonding with the Tucson gang.
Shall I get a new email out?

31st for the Catalina run, since John asked so nicely, and he has bought us ICE CREAM so often, and he had us to his house for an excellent cook out. Wanna blast up to Payson on the 24th, just to cool off a bit? Last time I was up there, I noticed that the Mexican restaurant we visited last time, is out of business. Guess we should have tipped better. Maybe if we go up there, the Pinkster will grace us with his presents.

I"m for waiting for John and the boys from Tucson.. but I didn't want to seem pushy. I agree with Mike and Mike and Karl.. two runs are better than one. We could go somewhere on the 24th and still do Tucson on the 31st. Now Karl, let's talk about this "cool off in Payson" idea. Don't you think it's been cool enough lately? Why don't we run somewhere its warm.. Like the Butcher Block at Punkin Center? Then we could continue around Roosevelt and make your favorite run back to homebase. As usual, I'll run with the crowd, but I've wanted a picture of Cobras lined up at the little parking lot with the bridge in the background for a long time. THis seems like an opportunity. What say you one and all?
