Casa Grande Run Saturday, Jan 16
Hey Guys.....Karl, Dan and I are making a run from Karl's pad to Casa Grande tomorrow. It seems they are having a really nice street fair including 250 cars and vendors, etc, etc. The information came to me via today's REPUBLIC in the "cars" section. Seems like a nice cruise.
If you are up for it, we leave Karls garage at 9am tomorrow. It's at the intersection of 202 and Brown, Mesa, AZ. We will be heading south on the 202 so if you want to hang out on the off/on ramp, we'll see you there. By the way, Karl has already agreed to be the "leader of the pack".
Mesa Dave would make it but he's turned his back yard into a trailer park to make some extra $$$$$ from the snow birds.

Yesterday's run was just about perfect. Danr drove his Cobra, I drove mine, and Mike and Loraine suffered through in their Lexus since they had a couple more events to deal with that required more than a two seater. The car show in Casa Grande was pretty good. Probably 125 or so cars and at least that many vendors selling food, jewelry, and other assorted treasures. My car's gremlins reappeared and it refused to start when I stopped for fuel. It started after a couple hours and Danr and I took off for Coolege and Florence. Beautiful day for a drive and we almost made it home. I had to make a hard stop east of Apache Junction and the car stalled, never to start again. No juice, no fan, no fuel pump, no nuttin. AAA to the rescue. Long story, short, found that my five year old Orbital battery had died. With the new battery, the car fired up on the first revolution. Remains to be seen if the new battery will cure the starting problem that has driven me right up a wall. Looking forward to next week's run to Punkin Center.

Yeah! Karl finally got a new battery.. I hope that solves his starting problem. If there is anything I hate worse than not starting, it's dribbling to a finish.. Congratulations Karl.
All in all, it was a good show. Bought a nice Route 66 fun run jacket for $20.00. Saw some nice cars. Ate some pretty good Mexican food. Passed a couple of trucks and wound it up pretty tight on the way home. Nice run. Looking forward to next weekend and the new place that Lonestar has volunteered to lead us to eat. See the "What's coming up" thread for details.

Karl.....glad you have a fix? Guess you'll find out this weekend. I'll join you for part of the run. Maybe we can get the "east siders" together and go over to the jump off point together. If not, at least you Dan and I can go over together. Yes?

I haven't heard from any of the East Bumscrew crew for a while. Hey Ya'll WHasssup? WHere ya been?
How about the eastside gang meet at the Chevron Station at McDowell and Recker about 9:15 for a 9:30 departure? We can take 202 to Gilbert and go out the civilized way.. If Karl figures out why his battery gets sucked dry.

Thinking I MAY have found out why my battery went dead. As I was going to check the alternator output, I found that the alternator's battery terminal was broken off inside the housing. Gee, wonder if that would make a difference. So glad I keep receipts. I got my second warranty replacement since originally buying the alternator from Checker in '01. Going to take a run up to Superior or maybe even Globe tomorrow to see if I still have the intermitant hot start problem. I'll hook up at the McDowell/Recker Standard station Saturday morning.

OK, see you guys at MdDowell and Recker at about 9am. What's up with Mesa Dave? Maybe he isn't reading this site. I'll start another.
