Good to see you again Larry. Next time I hope to have time to scuff up those super-fly chrome dubs of yours! The car looked great, even if it was too clean. ;)

I really hated to miss the full ride but I also hated to disappoint the Spartan Riders MC club, and I'm more skeert of them than ya'll.

These runs are too much fun.

I new we were running at a safe speed when that black 4 wheel SUV passed me going 80 in a curve. Jim out ran him!

I drive that route about twice a month in the family truckster. I keep the cruise control at about 72 and rarely get passed. Something about a pack of Cobras that brings out the testosterone in Yukon drivers when we're doing 70 mph.
"Look at that honey, they ain't so hot. I passed them all."
I like to wait until we are on an uphill 10% grade, then pass them doing 100.:)

Mike and Jim,

Both of you have rally nice well-built cars. Over 45000 miles each and running strong!.

Thanks for the complements on Old 3850. People here on the forum may not know that Jim said of the old roadster "lookin good". Hope she is as reliable as your two cars!

Mike C: do you hold the record in AZ for the most miles? Mr Pink must be 2nd!

Now if there were more SE's in AZ, then you could come on up to UT for our annual 4-day run!

Thanks again; great run! Let's see, 92 miles in 45 minutes...avg speed?...too difficult a calc.

Randy's yellow FFR sure has impressive features! Polished 408, electric power steering boost,(or was it brakes) etc, etc. A lot went into that roadster!!

Danr55 03-08-2009 09:23 PM

Maricopa, I have a hat in my car that Tucson John asked me to give you. Said something about a AZC emblem or some such. I was going to give it to you yesterday, but my car wouldn't start.. probably because I have the heads off.. I'll give it to you next Saturday if you're going to be at 83rd.

Maricopa 03-08-2009 11:26 PM

That might be too late, I was planning on ordering and sending the other hats to the embroiderer this week. Hmm....

Let's see, 92 miles in 45 minutes...avg speed?...too difficult a calc.

Only 204mph? I see you guys took it easy this time out.

mikiec 03-09-2009 09:08 AM

That's what happens when you combine, a tiger in the tank and a severe need to use the facilities. :):)

Maricopa 03-09-2009 09:13 AM

At least the all-tiger diet you're on seem to be working pretty well. :D

John-Tucson 03-09-2009 03:31 PM

Hey Danr55, I will be driving to Sky Harbor tomorrow, Tuesday, in the morning is there a chance that maybe I could pick up the hat from you and drop it off at Maricopa's ? John

John-Tucson 03-09-2009 03:33 PM

Hey Maricopa, If I can pick up the hat from Dan tomorrow morning, Tuesday, can I meet you somewhere and give it to you ? I'll need to be at Sky Harbor at 11:00 am and can work around that. John

Maricopa 03-09-2009 03:42 PM

You betcha!

John-Tucson 03-09-2009 03:46 PM

Thanks for the quick response, assuming that Dan and I can get together tomorrow, how can you and I meet ? Your home ? Businesss ? I am not really familiar with Phoenix ( well I guess that I am as familiar as Mikiec is) but I can use a map very well. John

Maricopa 03-09-2009 04:05 PM

Drop me an email and I'll give you directions.

Danr55 03-09-2009 06:31 PM

MIke, When are you sending the hats? Perhaps I can meet with you this weekend. If not, I can arrange to meet John somewhere.

Maricopa 03-09-2009 07:15 PM

I think we got it squared away. Not sure when I'm getting the hats, but probably Wed and I'll take them them to the emb by Thurs.

Danr55 03-09-2009 08:08 PM

JOhn, Call me. 480-628-4045. We'll set something up.

Bill Dapuzzo 03-10-2009 11:19 AM

Mikiec, Again thanks for the Arizona 1964 plates. Just came back from the MVD and put them on my Cobra. Had a great time last Saturday going up to Christopher Creek. Looking forward to the next trip.

John-Tucson 03-10-2009 04:34 PM

Hey Bill, The local DMV here just told one of our guys that he was lucky that the 1964 plate that he had brought to them had a 1965 sticker on it. Otherwise they weren't going to let him use it. Did your's have a 1965 stucker ? This is the first time that I have heard that a 1965 sticker was needed. When you get the 2009 sticker it covers the 1965 sticker ?????????????????????? John

Bill Dapuzzo 03-10-2009 05:24 PM

Hi John
It just so happened that the plate did have an 1965 sticker on it, But they told me that the 64 plate was good enough to register my cobra as a 65. Didn't say anything about the 65 sticker on it. Bill

John-Tucson 03-10-2009 11:08 PM

Thanks Bill, I figure that it is an incompetent employee or should I say that it is business as usual at the DMV. John
