Fitz, It's my understanding that since the Pres is passing on going with us again... (not sure what's up with him. It's like he's ashamed to be seen with Broberg lately.. ) we'll be going up 17 to the Prescott turnoff at the junction then going up through Mayer and Prescott Valley, and into Ashfork before getting onto I-40 and going into Seligman. I believe that Bob Broberg, our resident GPS guy will be leading the charge..

I hope someone will take some pictures and videos ( Cobras and alike ) of the event.

This drive is one of my favorites. #1 is the drive over Wolf Creek Pass.

Going from Queen Creek to Williams by way of Gallop? I guess that's how you do it in Queen Creek.. I've heard the stories.. Drive carefully. Indians aren't fond of snakes.

There's been a major change in the weather forecast for the Seligman and Kingman area for this weekend. Scattered thunderstorms with high of 60, low of 50 on Saturday. If this forecast holds I am iffy on doing the run.

What is the situation with the hotel, is it too late to cancel? Do I need to call them and give them a credit card number to pay for the room because it's too late to cancel? I don't know what the arrangement is.

Sandy, I just looked at Weather.com. They say the hi is 69 and there may be isolated thundershowers.. According to the weather map, they will be very scattered. Bring a car cover and you'll be fine.

Yeah, I looked at weather.com for Saturday and it shows a wide area of light rain forecast for areas north of Phoenix including Kingman. Kingman itself is forecast to be overcast with isolated thunderstorms, or a "slight chance" of thunderstorms.

The forecast for Seligman on Saturday is worse: Scattered thunderstorms, overcast, low of 36 and high of 50 -- a show-stopper for me.

If this forecast is accurate and I went I wouldn't leave Kingman on Saturday to go up to Seligman to make the run back to Kingman on Route 66. I'd just hang out in Kingman instead (with a top up and a car cover just in case).

I just don't know if it's worth it to me to go all that way if the weather is that crummy. Sitting around Kingman under overcast skies for almost two days with a top up just doesn't sound that appealing. I guess I'll have to think about it.

Just go! If it rains you won't be the only one wet. The cars and the people will dry. Rain it's just water.

Well, I was thinking about going on the run so I decided to install the soft top that came with my SPF (#2708). I've never installed it since the car was delivered to me new in Sept. 08 so I figured it was a good idea to see how the darned thing goes on and off while nice and comfortable in the garage. The bow that hold up the roof comes in two pieces, male and female that plug into each other over the middle of the car. Well, it seems my car came with two female pieces (two passenger side bows) so will not work. Crap.

Now I gotta call Superformance to see if they'll trade me out a new male for a new female bow half. I understand Superformance can be frustrating to deal with and the dealer I bought it from is out of business. Ugh, here we go...

So, now I have no top to use if it rains.

BTW is there any Superformance dealer now in the Phoenix area or is S. Calif. the nearest place? Nevermind -- I'll look it up.

Sandy, You only need a top if you're driving. Cover the car and drink scotch.. or beer or soda or water or just hang out with us.. Do you have a car cover?

Yeah, kind of a flimsy one, basically to keep dust off the car while in the garage.

Sandy, it's been a lot worse before. Sitting around drinking all day. Boy, would that be tough. Lots of places to visit and eat at in Kingman. We will have regular cars to ride in if we need it. Still a great drive up Friday and back Sunday.

Our fake cars are not going to win anything anyway. It is the people that matter. Take lots of pictures (boos) and just have fun. Don't hit any coyotes like Killer Dave. It is really pretty up there if you don't get caught in one of those rogue tumbleweeds that came across the road at about 200 mph and knocked me off the road two years ago. Couple feet in the air; changed my pants and continued. It is fun to run through the rain except for when Mikie got struck by lighting. Those roll bars are magnets!

Besides doesn't your car have a sump pump!

Sandy, speaking from experience, you can drive your car wearing just a parka. Nothing will get harmed in the interior. I have not only driven in pouring rain but also in a hail storm in Colorado. I travel alone so I can use my tonue cover over half the interior if I know bad weather is coming. When raining, just keep moving. You simply can't hurt the car. I've had the footwells filled with water. Sponge it up and point a fan on it. No damage.
You will have to deal with Hillbank in LA for your replacement parts. 2 females eh? And you're complaining?

Hey All!

Marilyn and I are heading up towards Kingman, leaving Havasu City about 6:AM. on Saturday. We are coming with a couple of Havasu Classic Car Club members ( not cobras) and will stop for breakfast at the Cracker Barrel in KIngamn. We will then head for Seligman after breakfast.

Hope to see all you AZ Cobra's theere.
