There are several freeway closures/restrictions going on Saturday. A couple might affect the Tucson gang depending on routing. Check here for details:
http://www.azdot.gov/ccpartnerships/news/closures/
http://www.azdot.gov/ccpartnerships/...res/050709.pdf
Anybody planning on coming down the 101 southbound in the Phoenix area be aware that the 101 will be closed between Broadway and Baseline -- that will be ugly.
Tucson guys: I-10 will be narrowed to one lane westbound from 6 am to 11 am and one lane eastbound from 11 am and later at the Gila River bridge (about 12 miles south of Phoenix -- don't know how far the traffic will be backed up). See the above links for details.
Don't want to get stuck in traffic in 100+ degree weather.

Sandy, Good information, thanks. Our normal route for this trip will be 60 east to 79 at Florence Junction then south to Florence. After that, it's up to John.

This rivalry isn't any different that the rivalry Phoenix and Tucson have "enjoyed" as cities for as long as I have been in Arizona. Phoenix likes to push its weight around as the big city and Tucson has a chip on thier shoulder about not getting the respect they deserve. It only goes back 100 years or so I wouldn't expect a bunch of cobra owners to do any differnet. The bottom line is if you can dish it out you have to be able to take it. If not stay out of the fight. I am not going to be able to make it as I have the buyer for the SPF flying in from Europe tomorrow to buy my car but both sides enjoy some Ice cream for me. Even if I was there I couldn't eat it but I will miss you all.

I will try my best to be there, my buddy Lonestar told me he can't make it and he was going to be the "flight leader."
I still have to install my speedometer which had broken on the way back from Laughlin last year. I am putting it off till this evening since my garage is about 195 degrees right now.
Hope to catch up with yuall in Florence.
Ralph

Dan,
I plan to intercept youz guyz at the Chevron station as you enter Florence on 79 between 8:30 and 9:00. I'll get there around 8:30 and hang out, don't pull in for me, I'll catch you (I hope). If for some reason I miss you I'll meetup at the restaurant.

Another one bites the dust. I just washed the Cobra and tried to start it to pull back into the garage and it would not start. After playing around for a few miinutes I checked the fuel pressure and it's Zero. The only way that it will strat is by pouring gas in the carb. but then it won't run after that gas is used up. I'll be there tomorrow but without the Cobra unless I can drop the tank pull the pump and find a new one at 7:00 in the morning, install it and remount the tank and be on the road by 8:15 am ? Right now that sounds rather impossible. See you in Florence.

John, What a negative attitude! So, if you get counted without your Cobra, does that mean that I get counted without mine?

Just went through that myself John. I cut an access hole in my trunk floor (I've dropped the $*@%ing tank twice...no more!) and the FP came out very easily.
