Default Registration @ 59th/Bell?

Hello all,

I think I'm finally ready to get an inspection for my Hurricane Cobra. I have the insurance through Midwest Classic Ins. I live in Peoria and the closest DMV is @ 59th and Bell, any recent success or horror stories? I know the place to go is Scottsdale, but it's a far drive and It's hard to get away from the office. Do I just need to go and get a 3day trip permit and then drive there. What day of the week is the best? Should I try and be there around 7:15am? Start with inspection and go from there. What level inspection is it? do I need to know beforehand? Anything else? thanks in advance to your replys

Tough one to answer. I registered mine there but that was a long time ago. As with most Government facilities the effort depends on the person you draw and their mood that day. I had no problem, just a cursory safety check but, my cobra was registered in another state before bringing here. Good Luck. I went mid-week at 9am.

Hey All,

So I went to the 59th/Bell DMV last tuesday morning, got there at 7am and got in line. 7:45ish, they opened the doorsand went inside and they told me I just needed a Level 1 inspection. When they came to do the inspection, he didn't so much as check my tail lights to see if they worked....Went inside to pay and really didn't have too many problems other than having to pay some taxes, but not on the motor, tranny, etc. and only a portion of the Turn-key-minus purchase price. I got lucky. Registered as a '65 spec constr.(I think). All and all, a good experience. so good luck bigwavedave. $35 for 2 years of registration...If you have any specific questions, I'll be happy to help you out in an way I can.
