Russ, Is your hard top being fitted at Ron's shop?

And here's a picture of my work in progress. I hope unfinished cars are okay!

Arthur,

Yes, I made a deal with Ron and he is fitting the top. He will no doubt do a better job than I would. I am trying to decide on a color...any suggestions. I only know black and maybe a little contrast would look good. Give me some ideas.

Back to the hardtop. I was on the west coast with my car in late August after attending the WSCB in Sonoma, so it was an easy decision for me to try to make a deal with Ron to do it. He was reluctant, but I was persistent and he made me promise not to bother him on how long it might take to get it done. To make the deal I offered to help sell a car he had in his shop by bringing it to Texas. He didn't want to deal with trying to sell it in California. That is really why he agreed to do the top for me. So, I have a very nice Gray (no stripes) Butler with a 351W, Doug Nash 5 spd, Jag rear and Centerline wheels and a radio. It looks good. I am on the hook to sell it, so tell your friends.

What are you doing about windows to fit the top?

Don't know yet. I have the side curtains from the soft top that was originally on my car. Will probably have to modify them some. In this climate, I really don't think I need windows.

Aren't you making windows for your car?

I would go with Satin/Flat/Rat-Rod black on the top. I don't think you need any more contrast. The black, Aluminum & chrome is just perfect contrast. You can't guild a lilly!

Why don't you advertise the car on this forum? What about eBay with a reserve? Great national & international audiance. Set a reserve and if it does not sell your cost will be virtually nothing. I've not sold a car on eBay but I've sold hundreds of items. There seems to be a buyer for just about everything.

Yes I'm making my windows. It's on hold right now. Because as usual I'm working on other areas of the car. Still screwing with the alignment of the rear IRS. I found it was not at 90 degrees to the center line of the car.

Sorry REDD for hijacking your photo request post. Hopefully the activity will draw more photos. Thanks

Arthur
