Default Production figures

Does anyone know or have production figures for the Arntz years? I have been following this forum(never posted) for a few years and have never seen any reference to total number of cars Arntz or Butler produced. I have frame #102 which I purchased from G & L Engineeriing in Sacramento, after a deal with Mr Arntz went sour to obtain a basic unassembled body and a frame. Too long to post here. The body I received did not fit the frame. Both required much rework to get them to marry up. I requested an unassembled body so I could incorporate my own interframe structure. It has been a challange (read 'nightmare'), and I've been ready to give up many times. I keep thinking what an accomplishment this will be when I'm done.

I doubt anyone really knows how many Arntz cars were made over the years, but there were about 100 Butler chassis/body pairs produced in various forms (from basic kit to turnkey). Sounds like you've got your work cut out for you Throw some pics in your gallery so we can see the progress.

I don’t know. I replaced my front frame and suspension before I knew of such a number. Everyone should chime in with his or her number so that we might get an idea. Our member Monster has the last Arntz to leave Steve’s shop. I wonder if he knows his frame number?

Where is the number located? I saw one near the rear suspension mount, and there was a date of 10/79 also. There is another plate on the front of the car with the original owner's name, but no other number.

That would be an Arntz thing. The numbers were in many places on the cars and many didn't have numbers at all. The only place I've found mine was stamped on the dash hoop and written on a dash bracket.

All the Butler cars had the number stamped into the front of the frame on the drivers' side just behind the bumper mount. The format is BRImmyyzzz (BRI for Butler Racing, Inc., mmyy for the month and year the frame was fabricated and zzz for the sequential chassis number).

Jason is right about the Butler number.

Spoke with Ron over the holidays. He has built 104 Cobras. No 104 is being finished...was started years ago.

Mine is #86, finished in 1994.

No idea on the Arntz cars.

I built 088 back in 1987 to 1988. In those days Cendy & Bret were at the helm in Goleta. They said their numbering system was the actual number of cars-if that helps on you quest.

Default Number built

I picked up Ron Butler's 58th car in 1988. Been almost twenty years ago. Still have it.
