Default Hard top

Has anybody found a brand of hard top that will fit with some minor modifications?

I make a universal LeMans hardtop, with opening rear hatch so you don't have to cut your trunk lid, fits most brands. send your e-mail address and I'll send you pictures

I believe that the hardtop that fits that Contemporary will fit most cars without modification unless the roll bar is too high. Check this out..

There is another brand of top that fitted for the higher roll bars..

They both sell for around $1250 or so.. I think.. I can get more info on the second type if you are interested.

Hi everyone,

I'm new to the site and I'm just now prepping my Cobra for paint. I would be interested in seeing some more details about your top and any other LeMans style ones that might be out there. I guess if I'm going to use one, now is the time to do it.

Thanks,
Gary

I recently bought a hard-top from Ron Butler for my Cobra. Email me at mitchy.usa@att.net[/email] and I will send you some photos. I have a real difficult time uploading photos to this forum.

Regards,

Arthur

I also bought a hard top from Ron Butler. The top has bows in it like a soft top and a fabric like finish. I am traveling, but will post some pics when I get back later this weekend.

Default Butler Hard top Broken Back window

Had a BAD DAY. While trial fitting the glass window into the hardtop I had a mishap and cracked the back window. As you Butler guys know this window is a one of a kind and cannot be replaced. Fortunately I had anticipated this and cast a mold of the glass before I started installing it.

Now I'm reviewing my options. Have a new glass one made but this could be expensive for just one. If anyone with a hardtop is interested in a spare window let me know and I will get a price for a quantity order.

My second option is to have a plexiglass window made. If anyone is interested in a plexigless version let me know and I will get some prices.

Arthur,

Give Ron a call. He is out of glass for the hardtop but has talked about having more windows made for years now. The guys who originally made the glass lost (tossed) the mold for some stupid reason. You might be able to work something out if you're willing to split some of the costs with him. It's worth a shot. He brings it up almost every time I see him, so I know he's been thinking about it I'd jump on board but I have an original hardtop I'm going to be fitting instead. Good luck,

Jason

Default Broken back window

I've been in close contact with Ron for a few months now and he knows about my situation. Ron is just working on liquidating any Cobra parts he may have. He would not be interested.

I have not had a chance to look into getting a replacement glass. I buy a lot of plexiglass fabricated items and my local supplier should be happy to help me out. Failing that, I will build an oven and mold one myself.

Will post my results here.

I've not had much time lately to work on the car. Business gets in the way of life.

Arthur
