Default Exterior Door Handles

I am looking for external door handles for the SC540. Something that is flush with the door and small. Does anyone know of any aftermarket ones

Stiffy,
I read that you used corvette handles, any pictures?

Albanycobra,
What door handles did you use?

Thanks
Warren

The ones that Mike put the link for. Good solid feeling handles. Check my Gallery there are a few picks of them a couple of pages back. I got mine from Summit.....Cheap.

Aussie Mike, Albanycobra, Stiffy,

Thanks for your responses, the lokar handle looks compact, I just have see how it will attch to the BF Falcon door latch.

Paul,
I am still waiting for DRB to put the final touches to their windows and air con unit before they will offer them as a kit. The doors have most of the cut outs required finishsed. The mirrors are now on the doors and they turned out pretty good.

The mirrors are from a Honda S2000, the mirror covers will be replaced with covers that contain ADR indicators and puddle lights.

This is the air con unit in the DRB car.

Warren

Does DRB make a roof for the 540? I'm thinking about building one for a daily driver.

Dave,
The roof is the next item that DRB are going to build for 540. I am hoping it will be available in the latter part of 2010. Although it will be a removal hardtop it will paneled to look like a soft and also will be covered in a softtop type material.
He also is going to add to the chassis mounting points to take the FG Falcon front suspension. Gives a few more options when shopping around for a donor car.

Hi there Warren, sorry to drag up an old thread, but was there much modifying required to make the Honda mirrors fit?
Also you mention using different covers to incorporate side indicators, does fitting these delete the need for indicators in tehe side of front guards?

Also do you know what is happening regarding the power window and a/c options?

Hi Dave,
The Honda mirrors fitted quite easily. Mounted them so they sat right and in the right position, then built up the area underneath of them with bog.
I bought aftermarket covers with an "E" approved indicator. The idea was to use these to eliminate the side indicators. My car has passed enginneering and final approval from Qld Transport with these indicators in the mirrors.
These are like the ones I bought through ebay in Australia
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/00-08...item2ead196831

The electric windows and aircon are available from DRB
The electric windows are fitted to my car and work well.
I am now just finishing of the installation of the air con in my car.

Hi Warren,
Car looked great when i visited, hope you have the aircon in.I purchased the aircon and the overriders on the wednesday while looking over peters car. I like the changes to chassis 29.Be a much faster build with the small changes he has made. The roof was starting to take shape and the drawings looked good.
