Default Pin Drive Wheels and Spinners (Jag hubs)

Hi,
A question to Australian Members. Has anybody, especially in South Aust. successfully gained registration with Pin drive adapters and spinners on Jag running gear? Just wanting to know of those who are currently running adapters, did you have them fitted through final inspection or did you fit after your Cobra was registered.

Cheers Roy.

I got mine through rego with pin drive adapters. However instead of the usual spinners I used hex nuts. Phil N got them from the US and loaned them to me.

The Engineer seemed to think they were OK and the Rego office didn't comment at all.

Cheers

Roy,

Mine went through Qld rego a few months ago. No issues with engineer or QT. Wheels and adapters from Vintage Wheels Inc.

Cheers

Should not be a problem in SA, these type of setups have been both state and federally approved for years.

Just make sure the wheels comply with an accepted standard - AS1638, DOT, TUV, JWL etc.

Your spinners cannot extend outside the side wall of your tyre, if they do, do what Mike did and fit hex nuts. I really like hex nuts, quite a unique look.

And just watch the available offsets, most of the 1 piece cast wheels have difficult offsets for our replicas here which either means narrowing suspension and/or body modifications. I have narrowed the suspension before on a Jag Cobra and it was an interesting experience to say the least.

Thank Guys for your responses.

400T, I have narrowed my Jag Series 2 IRS by 6ins. so I will need to calculate the required back spacing when ordering wheels. At this stage I am thinking about a set from Vintage Wheels. Still some months away yet though.

Again, thanks All.

Regards

Roy

We use Vintage Wheels on some of our cars, great quality and Bob is fantastic to deal with.

You do get slightly better backspacing on the 17" wheels, when compared to the 15" wheels even when you take into account the different width rims offered in each size.

Not sure with the body width on your kit, but you might need to narrow your front track as well or flare the guards.
