US export to Australia
Hi,
I am a newbe here and are an Australian presently working in the United States. I would love to build a kit car here but am concerned about taking it back to Australia in a few years time when my job finishes.
I have done a search on this forum and found a lot of good information, but am still confused on a few items.
Is RHD conversion required? Should not be a big deal - it is a kit car after all.
Chassis torsion test. My guess is that most US kits may not pass this - the original wouldn't. How big a deal is this?
Engine emissions. Kit cars in the US are exempt but it seems Australians are being forced into Chevy engines as the modern Fords are too big. Americans are much more particular than Australians when it comes to authenticity and expect Ford engines in a Ford replica. Is there any chance a pushrod Ford engine would be accepted. I will be returning to Western Australia.
