Unhappy

Alvin

I am in the same boat as you - I am looking into starting to make a cob in the next 12-18 months and have chatted to a few guys around the Gold Coast.

I have also looked at another builder called De-type, and they can supply a rolling kit for about $10000. Is this rather cheap? I believe the DRB is about $12000-13000.

As 750 said, depends on what you want, and I know I am not a classic car lover - I just want an inexpensive sports car, that I built myself - the build part I know I will love - the driving I know I will love too...... and how much fun can you have in a 1200kg 200kw V8 convertible?

Cheers,

Brett

$10000 cheap ? I stopped counting at $50000 three years ago and I'm still building ! If you're handy with tools and can do stuff...
Get it !

As a DRB owner I can tell you a heap of issues I have with the make, but at the end of the day it looks the part and as Craig say's the number of "uneducated" people still ask is it a REAL one!!!!

Downside................

Not a true dinky die looking Cobra - so what!

Battery in Footwell - Builder issue.

Modern dash (DRB 2000) - so what!

Suspension - Modifications definitely required!!!!

Door fit etc - builder issue maybe (I''m sure all Cobra doors drop in the end!)

Upside......................

It looks better than a Ferrari

Otherwise I'm happy and I tell you what there is not many sportscars where you feel better for just being in it! ALL love them

Battery in the foot well ? My other cobra had that.(another owns it but I am building it) I just spent 6 hours relocating it to the boot. (my car didn't get any attention that day). I am worried that the glass floor is too thin. Time will tell.
