Welcome Ozgur. I am on the other side of this country but I am sure that the WA boys will be in touch. It is still night time there!

I have been in Istanbul a few times but not seen any Cobras. Are there any there yet? Well done on your project decision.

Merv

I am coming back to Istanbul (and Konya) some time later this year - in May if I recall correctly - for a conference so I will be looking for those Cobras!! I could not see your sub-section "289 project @ scratch builders", but is that your car under construction above? Is that the way the trunk lid will hinge? We have the opposite here.

Best,

Yeah, a few of us looked at that hardtop and also a UK variant of it (below). Looked quite good but complicated, even tough it worked with a conventional trunk opening. I settled on a good quality soft top and a hardtop is still planned.

Hi Ozgur,

If there is not a cobra club event on, I'm sure that we can engineer an event where at least a few of the boys and their cobras could come out to play!

Just let us know when you'll be in Perth and we'll see what we can organise!

The slabside model is not so frequent in this country Ozgur, although others may respond. Most Cobras are clones of the 427 in some form and many now even have Chevy motors, a bit like the GD due to emissions regulations to a large degree.

There are a couple of (real) Cobras near me here:

There are quite a number of built Daytonas around and at least one in Western Australia.

thank you for pics
i'll find museum information to see cob6033 (BRG one)
but i don't know chassis number of red one

frankly, i like sound of small block ford but, i've used small block chevy on my previous cobra427 and still using SBC V8s for my 289 project

i've got around dozen of vintage and new pictures of British Racing Green COB6033
but, it would be great if i can get some pictures of red one and chassis#

btw, i remember an article on classiccars magazine that i read couple years ago about process of importing classic cars to Australia; Some specialized shops converting vehicles from LHD to RHD (very costly), even subjected car never produced originally as RHD.

so, how this red slabside with "REAL 1" license plate running ?

regards

ozgur

COB6033 is the green one? I also have a few photos of that one then.

The red one was not there on my last visit to Bowdens Auto Collection (one of the best and most original collections in Australia) but there are some pics on the various websites about their collection:

http://www.ponysite.de/bowdens_paradise.htm

This one has a distant shot of the red slabside.

The Bowden's home site only shows the great cars of Australian motor sport (but not the Cobras).

http://www.bowdensown.com.au/car-collection

http://www.clubcobra.com/photopost/s...hp/photo/45753

You could write to them and ask I guess about the red one.
