Default Qld vehicle mods - is a Code of Practice available online or as a PDF?

I've seen the Code of Practice on the transport.qld.gov.au site, but that's from the inspecting officer's perspective (ie: just the tick sheet they use).

Is the Qld consumer Code of Practice online, or does anyone have it as a PDF that they could send over?

Thanks!

Craig, would it be VSB14- National Code of Practice Light Vehicle Construction and Modification (NCOP) that you are looking for if so I have a copy on disk that I may be able to extract and email you. In fact I have the whole 2007 ADR disc.

Hi Lionel - you've helped me without actually needing to send me anything. I searched for "VSB14" and found everything I needed here: http://www.infrastructure.gov.au/roa.../vsb_ncop.aspx

On that page, it notes "Please be aware that the NCOP only represents the technical requirements that must be met - administrative requirements are dealt with separately by each state and territory's administrative guidelines or business rules."

That can only be taken to mean that if your mods comply with all applicable sections of VSB14, that it is legal in all states. Is that correct, or can state authorities still overrule national guidelines?

VSB14 is what I had to follow for the Northern Territory MVR when building my Cobra.
They advised me this code is Australia wide and the NT had switched to it, to bring the NT into line with all other States.
But they also advised that each State and Territory can supply "exemptions" to each code.
Such as side pipes on a Cobra.

There was an earlier thread (P4) on modifications and there was this http://www.transport.qld.gov.au/reso...n2_feb2004.pdf

But I don't think that was what you wanted?

Craig,
What Boxhead replied is very correct. When I started asking my engineer lots of questions he slung me the CD and said these are the guidelines you need to follow. But as we all know they are probably very open to interpretation. So seek some advice from your engineer and good luck.
Lionel.

Thanks for the replies. I'm astounded at how often the word "recommended" is used in the code. Now I just need an engineer with an ability, desire or willingness to think outside the square.
