I think Gary Sim's car is a small block built by Gibson Motorsport.

Cheers

Amazing how well these small block Fords endure and take on modification over so many years ...

O.K. Spook...I'll have to stop listening to "Little birdies" and their rumours...

Yes....got the e-mail...many thanks...and will be in touch.

New 347 got finished yesterday......racecar nearly back on it's feet....

Now I have to decide whether I should sell the " recently reconditioned " World Class T5 Gear Box, complete with B.and M. Short shifter.............Any Bites ??

It's a genuine V8 T5...unlike a lot out there...and it's pretty strong, but the Stroker might give it some grief.

A Tremec might be the go!

It never bloody stops this upgrading/changing thing does it..??,,

Time flies as well...only got 6 months to practice for the Nationals!

Cheers,
Warren.

Some really good times there.

To be honest I would be more interested in what tyres everyone was running rather than engine size. It seems to make a big difference at twisty Wakefield.

Cheers,

Ben

Yeah i thought Gary's car was a dart block 363 cube monster. Well I am pretty sure that is what his mechanic told me at Morgan Park a year or so ago. Pretty much V8 supercar spec except 6 litre not 5 litre.....
Spook the 1:09.0 was me...... little old stock 302....
As for tyres we all pretty much run the Kumho Ecsta V700 semi slicks for events that require grooves baby... Michelin slicks for events that don't care for grooves...
Kumho's are expensive in Oz, cheaper to get them from the States.

Beejay at I guess on tyres I'd say...

2004 – John White 1.11.2580 DOT approved Grooved slick

2005 – George V 1.06.3660 Full race slick

2006 – John White 1.07.4150 DOT approved grooved slick

2007 – Ozvenom 1.06.033 Full race slick
Gary Sims1.08.721 DOT approved grooved slick

2008 – Gary W 1.02.814 Full race slick

2009 – OB1 1.12.7850 "P" 0 WET TRACK
WET Eric R 1.12.4940 Grooved wet slick???

I couldn't tell you brands or specs but I'm sure the fellas can chime in with best tyres choices..

Seeing as though we are talking racing... can the racers tell me how they would grade certain tracks in relation to smooth v's bumpy...

i.e. QR, Morgan Park, Wakefield etc etc

SpookypT

It would be good to put the details in a running xl spread sheet to keep a track of the facts.

What does a current V8 super car do a lap in?

Go the Lexus, hope to get there one year when I'm back over that side of the universe.

Thanks for that, what is the break down of the different cobra nations classes? I can work out class 7&8 but what are the others, I want to work out what class I would be in with a supercharged lexus V8.
