Default Cobra from QLD to NSW

As part of me selling my street car I have had several enquiries from a fellow in Sydney who is very interested... Can anyone shed any light on their experiences with anyone who has purchased a cobra from interstate and reside in NSW.

I believe NSW can be harder than other states however I have recently sold another high spec unusual car from QLD to NSW and the purchaser had no problems despite it being spec'd outside normal spec. Wheels, rims, tyres, engine etc...

Any advice is helpful.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Spook,

My first post but have been a looking through the window for quite some time.

I am going through this circus with my Superformance Mark III at the moment. I would rather go to the dentist and have all my teeth pulled and then have them put back in without anesthesia!!

The NSW RTA moves the goal posts and ups the ante at every turn. The biggest problem is that they are not consistent.

In my case they have refused to accept the Victorian engineering paperwork which leaves me with having it engineered again and we all know the hoops involved with that.

If I were to do it again, and I don't usually want to hit my thumb with a hammer twice, I would demand it be registered in NSW before handing over any $.

Just my bitter and twisted feedback.

Steve

Hi Steve, sad to hear you're having trouble.. You're right about engineering etc. I have worked through that issue and the buyer and I will arrange to have the car certified by a NSW engineer prior to shipping. That's of HE goes ahead..

Hope your situation improves.. I expect that you shouldnt have that much to do to your car. SPF sells cars all over Oz so I am + they will be able to help you out.

Spooky, depends on who engineered the car originally, if it was done by someone on the NSW RTA approved list it is straight forward, if not as mine wsn't, al my engineer did was confirm that the cer still as originally engineered. Strange because when i registered it the RTA didn't want a copy of the original certificate even though the new certificate refered to the original.

Maybe the Federal Government should take over this area as well?
