Default Aussie dollar

With the Aussie dollar sliding is this the end of the good times? I am so use to buying stuff at 90 something per dollar.

As bad as it is for importing, its actually good news for Australia.

The Aussie $ ideally should be around .70 cents.

Maxwell.

I suspect so Dave. I have lucked out twice - once when buying tyres (tires!) and wheels and again later with motor mods. Both times at 94-97 cents/US$. We will need to look locally - or in New Zealand?

Actually Dave, I was thinking that the UK could be better now with the old pound also taking a battering?

I was thinking about this the other day. It depends where your money is. I am expecting that rate rises will slow down now. My mortgage has been going up a few hundred a month. So if i consider that money saved then the dollar isnt so bad.

Mind you i think the election result and its effect on the dollar will be something to watch due to confidence by foreign investors.

Yes the UK is my next target. I'm thinking of getting an Ultima so it might be a good time. Every cloud has a silver lining.

70 cents Oh well it's good bye to the US and hello UK.
I'm glad I got my FFR Coupe and a shed load from the States while it lasted.

There is still time to get the old exchange rate if you buy in stock items at performance warehouses. I bought my cratey today and still got $700 off the old price and the old price others had on the same (ford racing) engine. You'd have to be quick though.

Hopefully it works out. SOmetimes you can get caught out when the dollar bounces.
Happened to us in '90 when it dipped under 50c.
