Default Trip to Alice

I know this has been bought up before and now that the open speedlimits dont exist it might have lost some of its appeal.

This morning I attend a club breakfast for the local car club I am in, the discussion came around to the "Mothers day" show recently held (Saturday at casino and Sunday at drag strip).
From what I understood the car and bike numbers where up but attendees down.
It was felt that this was most likely due to the fact that there are only so many cars and bikes in Alice, Every second year there is a second car show in October that is linked to Shannons and a road trip.
Most felt that due to that show being on back in last October then that has kept people away (not many new cars to see)

This year Garry Myers bought his burn out Mustang up and 3 of the car magazine people sent photographers (Street Macine, Street Rodder & Customer rodder) aparently all magazines will be having articles in there up comming issues and are going to talk it up to help get visitors.

So today the comittee asked if any members have links to other car or bike minded people to try and drum up support for next year.

The event as I said is Satrday Sunday, cars can be displayed either inside or outside at owners choice, if inside then cars are put in on Friday evening and collected Sunday morning (this year some took there cars home Sturday night).

So if your thinking about visiting out here then may I suggest to maybe bring your Cobra (I may be able to get a good price on car freight from Adelaide and back) and I can also take time from work to take you around to see the sights, we can drive Cobra's to Ayers Rock, Kings Canyon, Hermansberg, Glen Helen, Ross River and Tennant creek (not sure of access to Devils marbles)
And if you want to go more off road my wife Ronda, works at a local tour company called http://www.emurun.com.au/ so I can probably help with members pricing on there tours.

Anyway, it is a long way off and you can all have a think about it (I reckon if some are looking at driving out I could be convinced to get my Cobra to you guys and join in the drive).

Talking

Great offer Boxy --- from memory, I think some of those tours are dirt roads that only broke back DRBs would be able to endure

Where was that picture taken?
I have crossed into NT from all directions (excluding Kimberlys) and I can not remember any mountains being near the border.

Also sadly those signs are now only good for shed art (speedlimits introduced a few years ago)

All the tours I have listed are now sealed roads, (just not sure about the access from highway to Devils Marbles)

For interested parties, I can get a price on freight from Adelaide to Alice Springs on a car transporter.

They are a division of my old employer.
