We have ignition!
What a gas......she's a goer!
The V8 in full song, only headers so the whole neighbourhood knows
I haven't been this excited in a long time, dancing round the shed and there wasn't even anyone home to celebrate the event
Actually it's running like a pig, idling ok but it takes some careful throttle kneading to not stall when accelerating. With half the sensors stripped from the loom and no 02 sensors yet should i expect thing to be hairy?

It's like the birth of your first child.
Good on you Greg. That first cough and splutter and then the sound of all 8 firing together is something you will never forget.

Thanks fellas, funny you mention the cough and splutter, it was more of a bang and flames out of the pipes..........then nothing.........after a little head scratching I pulled the dizzy off, turned it 180 degress and then it sounded a damn sight better

Great stuff Greg, yep no O2 sensors will make it run a littel rougher than it should.
But a big step forward has just occured.

Hey Merv
I'm probably getting a little ahead of myself, pre rego and all, but what did you decide to do with your eng mods?
I'm considering blower V's head rebuild and manifold changes as well.

Greg - I was very close to getting a Kenne Bell blower but on checking I found it would require a new inspection and compliance plate. There was also a residual concern about the extra stress on the motor and gearbox. However, I was officially advised that a motor upgrade would not. So I have Trickflow Twisted Wedge ally heads, Trickflow stage 1 cam, Trickflow ally rockers, 30lb injectors, MassFlow chip, new lifters, push rods, valve covers, cam drive and chain and a MassFlo EFI system with new intake manifold with braided lines and so on. That should add a fair bit of power - more than enough for me! All parts from Summit Racing and MassFlo. I have the order list if needed.

Ahh I'm thinking blower, so that's interesting about compliance. I wonder the rationale there given comparable power gains?
Have you got all the goodies bolted up yet?
A list would be good thanks, you've done your homework.......the thread you started a month or two ago makes good reading.
Are you off to Qld Raceway later this month?

Merv, just noticed no new ECU, so the Ford A9L should be good for the mods??

Yep! That was the advice from the motor expert. Is a flexible unit I am advised. The MassFlow 'conversion kit' is much cheaper than their whole kit.

cool
Congratulations Greg. The mods sound good, should go well, I'm guessing it will need a dyno tune though.
