Cockpit Covers
After reading the spat thread, I was wondering how many of you 'enclose' your cockpits with a leather/vinyl cover? I would love to be able to enclose my cockpit when I leave the Cobra in carparks, so I was wondering if any of you Aussie guys have done this to your Cobras?
If you have some pictures of your covers please post them!
Blair

Blair, had one on my street cobra, my shared track cobra with Scotty and now my new track car. Love them. The only thing is you have to install quite a few press dots for attachment. There is a discussion on one of the otherr forums about a company that makes a cover in the USA that doesn't require fixings but its only for when parked, not for trailer or when driven!

Not sure if this is what you mean Blair but there was an earlier thread on hoods and tonneaus with quite a few pics and ideas. I have some in my gallery as well.

I've had really good luck with this from Cal Car Cover: http://www.calcarcover.com/product.aspx?id=629&cid=
It has 4 straps that have soft hooks that hook under the 4 fenders. I bot the one for a Miata 7+ years ago, however I think that they may have one now for a Cobra. It stores in a really small bag - perfect for the Cobra.

Here is one I had made for my car Blair.
I will have it on when I drive over in October if you want to take a look.
Damn I wish it was clear and sunny like that pic, we have about 4 degrees outside and has been raining since Saturday night.

Hi Boxhead, I was wondering how you go with your left hand mirror? Can you actually see behind or is it only for looks? I've set my mirrors up the same as yours but I still haven't installed seats so they haven't been adjusted. At the moment it looks as if neither the left or right hand mirrors will do their job.
Regards.

Just like a guy who has had a vasectomy Mando.
It is there purely for decoration.
It is one of teh jobs I plan on doing when I feel like just sitting in teh shed and having a fiddle, get the mirror into a useable condition.
I was thinking of machining up a wedge to mount between mirror and bracket you supplied.
