i totally agree
i prob should have said it in using tamer words
but basically i do not think anyone should air their dirty laundry on forums
because then u get people replying without knowing full story
using the word ripped off made the tuner sound like a theif which i know
he would not even hurt a mouse

then u had others saying u got screwed even i used that word without knowing the full story
anyway im at fault and many others are at faulty here so i think from now one anyone wiith probs just go back to where u had stuff done and talk to them politely even it it has cost u heaps of money just keep it off the internet
otherwise everyone including me gets bad publicity and no one will use me for work
and no one will want to do work for you

I have an EFI Live commercial unit, it had an issue (usb receptacle not soldered from factory). It was well out of warranty but unused in most respects as I didn't have everything else in place sensor wise, fuel supply etc. The guys at EFI Live sorted me right out with a replacement unit with full warranty.
Now the time has come to hook it up for real and check for spark etc but OOP's. No spark. So... the ECU has gone to someone smarter than me to get checked out for ID 10 T errors. I emailed EFI Live and asked if I would need to commit another licence to the ECU when it has been reflashed or the VIN changed, here is the response.

Hi Gary,

EFILive does license against the serial number of the ECM/TCM controller and not the VIN. If you get the same controller back and the serial number is the same you will not need to allocate another license to continue tuning.

EFILive Limited

I can't bag the guys making, selling and supporting the tool at all. :-)
