Yeah time to buy the rest of the bling I reckon. The FF site has heaps of great stuff. Wind wings, overriders, steering wheels... what's the quality like, seems too cheap?

Eg, $150 for a decent looking wheel.

Ordered the MassFlo kit this morning. More soon!!

Apparently no hurry though, much talk of parity with the $US being the norm rather than the exception.

Uhmmm, OK here I'll start...

Just 2 words to explain the current situation with the US dollar: Quantitative Easing.

Lay-mans terms it means "printing money".
Which is the current US Government's answer to getting itself out of the GFC.
When governments do this, its basically all down hill.

Worse still for those still reading and interested - Since the Nixon days the US dollar, is no longer backed by Gold... but is back by the US tax payer.

This means the only way for the US dollar to recoup ground is to get all back from the locals... Unlikely to happen anytime soon.

My humble guess is Geof might be onto something when he says "the norm"

Cheers,
Anth

I think the only caveat on all this is that when (if?) the yanks realise the sh!t is hitting the proverbial, they can tend to withdraw from their overseas investments, cash out, and run home. And this can actually create high demand for the greenback, which in turn drives its value back up.

Tho what the exact fallout is for the rest of us, I cannot say. I do think its worth taking advantage now while we can without speculating too much on where the dollar is headed.

It's ok...I built an FFR COupe and most of the stuff was good quality.
But I think FFR use USP not USPS which is cheapest so get a freight quote first.
Finishline allways give good freight.

I am going over what kit cars are available in the States...I wish we could go dollar for dollar with the Pound..."Hello Ultima......I'll take the lot, thanks"

1 AUD= 99.6 USD.......hehehehe, i think you have a decimal point problem

so for every 1 aussie dollar you have to spend 99.6 US dollars?

try .996 USD.......or 99.6 cents.

Dollar dazzler to hit $US1.10

* From: Sunday Herald Sun
* October 17, 2010 12:01AM

The Aussie dollar is predicted to hit $US1.10 within a month after touching parity with the US greenback on Friday.

The historic milestone was reached for only a few moments at 11.38pm Victorian time, when the Aussie touched US$1.004 before dropping back to US99.07c.

It was the first time since the early 1980s that it has been on equal terms with the US currency, but then we were on the way down, not up. Experts say the Aussie will surge back through parity and beyond, thanks to booming China and record prices for our commodities.

"I think we've hit a new trading range for the Aussie and we'll settle up near $1.10 very soon," said Shane Oliver, of AMP Capital.
