Default Pinchweld Ends

Has anyone got any ideas as to where I can source some sort of caps to cover the end of the pinchweld / doorseal ? Any ideas would be much appreciated...

There was an earlier thread on this Kyle: Door rubbers?

Unfortunately, the only way that fitted was for them to be specially made. Not fast and not cheap. I am interested if you can come up with ones that fit.

Thanks Merv.. In the back of my mind I was sure I'd seen them on some sort of early production car but have had no success finding anything. Looks like It's time to bust out the Mig and hammer...AGAIN.

I've been trying but for the life of me can't remember where I have seen nice tidy black plastic pinchweld ends.
We're talking production vehicle, prolly a ute, anyone got a ford courier/raider and check it maybe?
There is an easy alternative out there but damn I can't think where.

Hopefully someone will remember to notice one day and report back for the next needy builder.

Kyleb
Got my polished stainless pinchweld covers from MG Spares in Smithfield.
www.mgspareparts.com.au I saw someones car with them on this site ages ago,
about $50 for the set of 4. They need a small mod apparently (mine are still in the packet)
Good luck
Greg

Yeah, code# 050135 RHF, 050136 LHF, 050137 RHR, 050138 LHR, the invoice states their off an MGB. No pics on their site unfortunately. They call them door seal finishers

Will be interested to see if they fit Greg. Depends on the size/shape of the pinchweld too I guess. the ones that I had from MG heritage did not fit but they were rubber.

This may be of some assistance. Poor photo quality but it will give you the idea.

These were from a MG with some mods. Cant confirm the part numbers as it was the great work of the previous owner, Paul.

OK I have had a couple of MGBs in the past and I recall those. The seem to work well. Abingdon's in Brisbane would also have them. Worth a try. Thanks Kyle.

Merv
I had a fiddle with them the other day. The 2 rear ones only need a bit ground off the back to get the fit pretty right. The front ones have got me scratching my head though. It's wet here again today so I'll put grass cutting on hold and head to the playroom to see if I can sort them out.
I'm frustrated atm waiting for a new dizzy and coil from Summit as the beast won't start and it's ready to engineer.........learn't my lesson, don't buy stuff from that well known peddler of cheap engine parts on ebay
This time I think it's the PIP sender in the distributor, having already replaced the dodgy TFI module.

Yeah me too. I can't seem to visualise the front ones. Like golf really - visualise and it will happen. Still hit it left and a head ache from all the visualising ...

If it helps, I also went the same eBay route with the dizzy and then junked it and went for a good one from Summit. Cured me from buying eBay parts (unless OEM). Then you are off to see Ray?

Ahhh golf lets not go there.
Just need to get the front and rear alignment/camber set up down at the local tyreman then off to Ray. Don't know if this will happen before Chrissy though

Merv/Greg, did you manage to work out how to attach the front pinch weld ends? I'm looking to buy these soon.

Excellent thread by the way, thanks!

No joy from this end Paul. They only sent me two at this stage. Greg might have had more success.
