Bit of a price jump when you check the Aluminium body option

Love the 289 FIA, and I reckon its a kit that is missing in OZ - slab side is a little too...um....slab sided?

I love the simple purity of the slabside. It is far more 'delicate' than the 427SC that we all seem to have.

I reckon the 289 is a great mix of both - This one spent a lot of time as my desktop pic before I swapped it for a fanta coloured car.

I must admit, I have loved the 289 slabside for well over 30 years...I remember being a 14 -15 year old visiting my best mate who's father was a car buff and my mate and I used to spend hours and hours drooling over his Dad's magazines...

One day I came across a full page photo of a BRG 289 Slabside Cobra with wire wheels and it was love at first sight! I asked my mates Dad if I could cut out the page from his magazine and that photo was on my wall for well over 7 years until I ultimately moved out of home after Uni!

When I managed to finally live my dream of Cobra ownership a couple of years ago, I researched the option of getting a 289 replica, but with the uncertaintly about getting one registered in WA, I chose a 427 Superformance Cobra replica...

I have never regretted that decision and owning it has given me not only the joy of having my own Cobra, it has provided me a benefit that I did not even consider prior to ownership - That is meeting some fantastic people who share the love of Cobra's through this forum and via the network of Cobra enthuisiasts all around Australia and I thoroughly enjoy the comraidship and information sharing that this network of enthusiasts provides...

Regards....Paul
