Hi Dave, We meet first Wed of the month (i.e. tomorrow night). Next meeting is 6th April.

Shame you're not there the next week, when ShelbyFest is on.

Rgds

Scared of what, a granny shift Bunnings car?

I would normally be in Melbourne for 3 weeks, and be at Albury for Chryslers on the Murray 19-20 March, then at Shelbyfest the follwing weekend (tow Cobra down with Valiant Hearse), but work is pretty full on at the moment and I have been "lucky" enough to get a week off. I chose to attend the Chrysler show as I have a car club meeting in Alice on the same weekend as ShelbyFest.
We are having night racing at the drag strip, with headlights on and 1/8th mile

Dave, you'll also miss Top Gear Live in Melb 11-14th as well. Timing is everything.

Gav, it will be my first ShelbyFest (competing that is) this year. Hope to catch up with you.

(I will be driving the 6 speed manual - like a granny :-) )

Rgds

Gregg, with your car being a manual, you will do more than catch up with him, you will pass him. Repeatedly

I am only stirring the pot Gav, would much prefer to be doing it in the pits while we are both sitting in our respective Cobra's all buckled in and ready to go.

But that wont stop me laughing at your flappy paddles.

I see Gav's car is on the front cover of Snaketales.

Much bragging rights for a while!

Stiffy, thanks for the offer but accomodation is fine for me in Melbourne.
Mum is still there and I lived there for 21 years.

I will be driving up to Albury in one of these.
http://australianmusclecarsales.com....ac?query=pacer
The owner is taking his wife and 2 kids, so they want to be in the a/c car. Which I dont mind at all.
The owner is a really good guy and I am blown away by his offer to drive the Pacer there for him.

If picking up 4 secs a lap was as easy as slipping on a dress, F1 would make them standard uniform

Hmmm, so anyone in a manual car that is 3.5 seconds behind you, is in theory faster?

All good Gav, as I have said to you in the past, if I build a dedicated racer (drag racer) most likely will be LS1 with either aftermarket injection, or carby and electronic ignition, Auto box (turbo 350/400) and 9 inch in the bum.

No, it means that you have not come within 4seconds a lap at either Winton or Wakefeild, of a supposedly soft nana shifting cobra.
BTW yes, autos are also faster in a straight line.
