Keep in mind young Don...whatever you buy will probably be on the car for many years...
I don't expect you'll be clocking up 20,000 klms a year.

I'd be "splurging" on the best...and work out the price over a number of years....my 2c worth !
Cheers,
Young Warren.

HISSIN - did you buy them in Aus or US? How was the price if you bought locally?

If he keeps going on interstate bike rides and leaves the keys somewhere that I can find them, you never know...

It's taken a couple of decades, but we're back to the days of me pinching the car when Dad's not watching.

Boxhead, are the billboards also referred to as the bluestreaks. I was wanting to register my cobra with 15 inch wheels however the engineer wanted a z rated tyre, no chance in a 15 so I went with the 17.

Not really the look I wanted, so again another change, when I get the time and money!!

I think that it its hard to get a compromise between street and track. To be honest the best thing is to buy a set of good slicks or groved race tyres on another set of rims and use them on the track days. I think that people ask too much from a road tyre.

Beejay what brakes are you upgrading to.

YEP,
I've spoken with several tyre manufacturers and the five year deal is only to cover their ass. As long as the tyres blocks are soft and there are no cracks the rubber is good. Avoid sitting in the sun for a long time....like a spare on the back of a 4wd. My yokahamas are at least 10 years old and are still good.
