The clutch looks great.

Won't know how it feels for a few months.

Thanks all for your input. After speaking with some others off this forum, I have gone with the LS7 setup, steel flywheel. The Mal Wood setup was attractive, but I have got out with an LS7 setup for considerably less $$$. I will go to Mal for the remote bleed however. Thanks again guys.

Modena - if you have a decent brake guy they can probably make you up a remote bleeder - its nothing special, just a bit of braided hose and some fittings. My guy did in braided for about half the cost of the mal wood one.

Cheers

We have used extreme clutches in heaps of our cars, up to the vz model 06 they are fine great pedal and will easily handle 300 rwkw in the heavy commodore. They are supplied locally or look them up on the web. The newer ve style which is the ls7 style has some failures but it has more to do with the pedal box in the ve and not the clutch. They go into a fail type mode and need to be reset.

Default LS7 clutch update

Anyone looking to purchase an LS7 clutch and flywheel, I got mine from Fraser at SpeedInc in late 2009. I see they still have very good pricing on the kit. Fraser's email is fraser@aesracing.net and shipping to Australia is around $250.

I had power steering issues last weekend that prevented a proper test drive - should be fixed tomorrow. However I did notice that the clutch engaged about 2" from the floor, which had me worried. Well today I came across this useful clutch installation PDF and on the bottom of the last page it says, "the LS7 clutch will engage very low to the floor and will take about 500 miles to properly break in". What a relief.

Don't you have an adjustable pedal box?

There's some adjustment in the pedal box and plunger into the master cylinder but this appears to be a characteristic of the LS7 clutch - needs 500 miles to bed in and give the full range on engagement.

Default Mal Wood

MODENA,

I used the Std Clutch for a year or so with no problems.
Then went to the Mal Wood Series 3 ( Organic ) which has the same feel as the Std one.

Hi guys. A quick question related to all this. I plan on using a LS1/T56 combo in my cobra (unbought as yet, but will be Vy/Vz vintage) but am planning the build for pedal box.

So question is, what size master cylinder should I get for the standard hydraulic clutch? Also, any thoughts on where to go to get a fwd position shifter?

Thanks

Mine leaked...twice. Tossed it and used a Tilton instead.

Thanks guys, but how big is the standard holden unit? Do I want a 1" bore, or a 0.75"?

Thx
