Default Wakefield Park - Class A; Iain Pretty 1:01.9458 2005

I read recently Iian had sold his car and was doing some surfing of the net and found that Iian had done a 1.01.94 in his Cobra in I think 2005?? He may have gone even faster since?

Certainly gives everyone something to aim for this year...Although I believe that time was in the dry!

SpookyPT

P.S. After the various discussions (on and off this forum)post Nats 2010, does anyone know whether there has been any changes to this years event?

I was talking to Ian Denner at classic revivals workshop about 10 days back and he told me Iain P's car was just about a full blown race car, suspension hard as a rock.

Also had the opportunity to meet the new owner whilst there who's in the process of having a motor built by a third party.

Bit of a difference to our full weight street registered cars. Gary walthers car did a similar time I think on his first outing on the track. I think there are some changes planned for the nats this year. Was talking to Neil Streeting at the A series the other week.

Oddly enough, I was chatting with the new owner and he said it is unlikely he will ever take it to the track.
He didn't seem that interested in racing.
Interesting that he made the choice to buy Ian's car, up close, it is a real race car.

Any heads up on potential changes Towmaster?????

Your "full weight" street car seemed to be quicker than a certain Victorian Cobra Race Car times at Shelby.. But I acknowledge he wasn't there on the day for true comparison....

Iians Cars was pretty awesome! Lots of track development!

I think the ideas are still in discussion mode at the moment. Although I did hear something about a 'State of Origin' battle...... If that was the case and they used place of birth then I would have to drive for South Australia..........

I think it will remain largely the same, I guess we will find out more in due course.

No chance Towie!! I'm sure Wazza will get around that small problem. In the NRL State of Origin you play for the state where you played your first senior football. So in our case if you first drove your Cobra in anger on a track in Qld then you're a MAROON.

That is unless you want to be a crow-eater and drink Southwark!!!
