Yes Paul there is a stop bar at the top and also a series of points to insert lock bars. I can even use it with the garage door open. No leaks and have just done all the little things like tightening engine mounts, sump gasket, starter terminals, earths, and sprayed up some patches on the exhaust and chassis!
Well done Rob - the small roller stool is great. Get one of those, or on ebay.

Well done Merv
Routine maintenance will now be so ... routine
I remember Kevin/Funfer2's posts when he was looking at them and thought these hoist were a great solution where headroom is an issue

Thanks LoBelly. Maybe I should be on commission with Levanta as a few seem to to be buying these ...
Kevin's advice was very influential.
It does make maintenance much easier and the dreaded axle stands can stay in the cupboards.

You should be on commision Merv, your advise was extremely helpful to me, I've been looking at hoists for a few weeks but height was always the issue.
Almost got a 4 post at one stage but wasn't keen on having jacking trays so that I could remove wheels etc and about $600.00 more plus delivery.
If anybody is looking I believe there are still a couple available on ebay from a queensland site with free delivery australia wide

Yes call them up if u have any probs. They offer good advice. Make sure u take all the pack apart before trying to move any of the parts. It is very heavy.

Paul mine is 105 inches from widest to widest point. You could do less.

Hi Merv, can you tell me if when the hoist is fully extended in the up position with a car on board can you drive the cobra underneath it and through to the other side?
Regards.

Never thought of that Mando. Interesting. I am in Melbourne at the moment and cant measure. The Cobra is 1200 high as I recall and the hoist raises it over 4ft. I think it could as the arms would be out of the way. Will have to check that out for you when I get back Thursday. I could have two Cobras?

Paul,
fyi, I made mine 2800mm inside post to inside post, you could possibly go a little more if required depending on where your chassis rails are and what other vehicles you may want to lift.
My CR main rails are towards the centre, the outer rails are for body mounting only, although the telescopic lift arms would cover most chassis's I beleive.
The included instructions are excellent.

Mine are 2670 from outer post to outer post. I measured both cars involved and that is fine for me. I can use the suspension points just inside the chassis rails.
