I think that there are some serious environmental issues for the future at stake here, as Cameron points out. However, the whole thing has been linked (cleverly or not) to a 'carbon tax' that has not been justified or explained satisfactorily.

I don't think that ignoring the environmental issues will make them go away, but neither will a tax achieve any desired change. Sadly, none of our three political parties has presented with credibility on this issue.
