Default Spare wheel requirements QLD

Hi can anyone tell me what the requirements for a spare wheel are to satisfy ADR. My wife's Mazda MX 5 does not have a spare wheel it has an inflation puncture repair kit. I am wondering if this will comply?

Damo, a spare wheel is not a registration requirement. So you won't have any rego problems in QLD by not having a spare.

Having some good RACQ cover or puncture repair tools can be handy if you do get unlucky with a flat.

That is correct. A spare is not a requirement, but if you do have one, it is required to be in a roadworthy condition.

Yeah this one really confuses me.... You don't have to have a spare but if you do it has to be roadworthy.... So what is better? Being stuck in the bush with no spare and dying or driving on a not so good tyre somewhere you can get help....

Yes, a stupid rule. As far as I'm concerned, whatever the car came with from the manufacturer should be in the vehicle at time of inspection.

I'll check on that one, I know they don't have a spare wheel anymore.
