personally I'm not that keen on the Veyron, I mean I wouldn't say no, but it's not THAT good. If HP was my thing I'd build something with more power.

Sunday cars:
1984'ish Ferrari 328 GTS (this one is actually within reach, maybe one day!)
original 427 SC
the last of the air-cooled Porsche 911 turbo's
Dodge Viper RT10 (series 1)
Lamborghini Diablo VT

Dailys:
Porsche Cayenne GTS
Audi RS6

Car - have always liked the Aston Martin Vantage else a real piece of sportscar history in an Alpha Tipo 33 such as this Magnifico! 1967 Alfa Romeo Tipo 33 Stradale Prototipo | Flickr - Photo Sharing!

Planes - yes I'd go do a full flying course including aerobatics if I became independantly wealthy enough to go by a P51 Mustang

It's only money!!

Aussie Mike 11-07-2011 04:53 PM

Thanks for that link Slowy. From there I found the Ferrari 512 Modulo. I had this car as a toy car as a kid and always wondered what it was.

Being the early 70's it looked like something out of the British Sc-Fi series UFO at the time. I never realized it was a real car. There were a bunch of concept cars from this era that look futuristic even today.

GT40 Mk II. And I've already got one (SPF). I suppose an original would be even better, but I'd feel guilty risking it on the road since it's a piece of original history.

I'd find someone to build this for me:
The Official Cobra Venom V8 Website

Then I'd set up limited production and charge all you fellas a bluddy fortune to buy one.

Merv and Sharon 11-07-2011 05:49 PM

Now how good would that look on the Peninsula?

That's so true - I remember as a kid being fascinated by the Maserati Boomerang and trying to decide whether I loved it or hated it!

It went on to sire the Maserati Bora which I still like to this day.

If however money was truly no object, road going vehicles would take a back seat to my own personal flying yacht. Included would be a bay that would house a lightweight, fast custom built car - probably of my own design.

Quite the car. I was at the Monterey Historics this year and there were THREE of those racing side by side. Listening to those engines rev, even parked in the pits, was incredible.

Jeff,

You have stolen my No.1. Bucket list. There were only two cars that I really loved. Thats was the the 250 GTO and the Cobra. I have the Cobra, but the next step up is pretty steep. Who knows. I have been buying $5 lottery litckets which in NSW is worth now $35 million, so I might just scrape in for a GTO if my lucky number comes up. I woukld still keep the Cobra though. What a great garage pic that would make. One for rsin and one for fine.

It is interesting that in the much heralded 50th anniversary of the E-Type Jag, no one seems to have nominated that.
