Jeff,

I'm with you..

This car is on the top of my 'Bucket List", but the next down the line is the Cobra which I now have. I have only one step to go, but I don't think that the current NSW $5 Lottery win at $35 million could secure an original 250 GTO Ferrari.

Well, if I had to choose a Ferrari ( if I really had to choose one:eek:) it would be a 275 GTB-4. Whilst the GTO is a great car-the 275 gtb-4 is probably the best looking one IMHO.
Failing that it would most like be a Dusenberg Roadster or maybe a Auburn supercharged roadster-both great to look.

Aren't we already living the dream now?

Not sure about the rest of you guys, but when I get my Cobra back in December I will be living the dream and while I would dearly love to have a 1977 Rolls Royce Phantom VI, I would be paranoid about driving it for fear some SOB would put a dent in it or worse yet key it. Look at it another way, for all of you who have submitted your dream car druthers if money was not an object for your day driver, if you can afford such a ride you don't need a day driver since you could have whatever car you wanted because presumably you already have all the gelt you need.

Cheers, tin-man

Whoa some great choices.. Guess I also would like to park a couple of original cars - perhaps a Daytona, the Gt40 along with a 427 Cobra.. And a new Ferrari for Anne..

I always liked these:

1951 Frazer Nash
and these:

PORSCHE 911 Turbo 4 (993) | Car Specs | Octane

The more I think about it, the more I am convinced that I would design and have my own unique, personal car built. Modern cars are great but don't have as much character and soul as the older classics. The old classics are soulful but too rare, unreliable and fragile for real world driving.

I would have something insanely fast built around a retromodern Cobra roadster concept like these we played around with in the old "modern Cobra" thread.

I like the ferrari 250 GTO.

However, a GT40 with Keith Craft 496 cammer all aluminum as the power plant would be prefered.

Yeah, you can get exotic, but there is something about the GT40 - it just pulls you in and holds you tight.

Right Bernie?

For a beach barbeque picnic with family and friends, something custom built along these lines would also be in order.

Eleanor with a twin turbo all aluminum 427w, A/C, power everything and cruise control. As for a DD I would say a nice f-350 quad cab single wheel King Ranch would do me just fine, but the CTS-v coupe would also keep me entertained.

I can't think of too many other Cobras I'd swap my great old Arntz for.

As a lovely useable everyday "supercar" I'd have an R8 Audi, V8 or V10, doesn't matter.

But if I could have just one car, one car to choose from all the cars on the planet, it would be this one.
McLaren M8D

Nothing quite like excess.

Hey Rog,

Story for you.

We were in Niagara a few years ago, driving through that weird town in a rent-a-car. Coming in the opposite direction was a cream Super chareged 1936 Auburn. A quick u-ey and I followed him until he stopped in a Supermarket Car Park. Got some great pics and what a lovely bloke he was. He was that good that he could qualify as an Aussie.

Baz

Rog246 11-08-2011 11:36 PM

Well obviously he was a GENTLEMAN OF DISCERNING QUALITY !:D
not only did he have a very nice car, he nearly qualified to become one of us it seems
Rog

Rog246 11-08-2011 11:37 PM

Hmm, do I detect a trend here or is it just me

BMK 11-09-2011 05:29 AM

Buzz

Yes a bigger garage would be in order.

Makes me think of our mate Jay and his collection!,

Bernie
