I guess that's why he called it a Wally.:LOL::LOL::LOL::LOL:

All things considered if you have US$20,000,000 it can be yours, it does not come with a crew, but I am guessing you could have your choice of female helpers. Cheers, tin-man

Maybe "Willy" would have been more fitting :3DSMILE:. 118' at 60 knots - its a rocketship for sure.

The blonde is probably a hairy old truck driver, it's just that she looks more attractive surrounded by the ugliest boat ever made. Damn, it's ugly!!! Fast, incredibly built, cutting edge, but fugly!

If money wasn't a consideration, I would go to next year's Goodwood Revival and start spending...! Did anyone see the 2011 event on Channel One on the weekend? More genuine Cobras than you could poke a stick at, not to mention the Lolas, 250 Ferraris, GT40s, Daytona Coupe, Lister Tiger, even the Ferrari Breadvan hit the track. What an event!

Merv and Sharon 11-28-2011 04:11 AM

I missed that Craig but heard it was terrific. How can one dump stuff off a Hard drive of a video recorder to DVD??? One of the guys here has it. Alternatively, how do you go about getting a copy from Channel One?

750hp 11-28-2011 04:24 AM

Not sure about HDD to DVD (I don't have either!).

The main races they showed were;

2011 Goodwood Revival - Whitsun Trophy Race [HD] - YouTube (Action from the very first corner...)

2011 Goodwood Revival - Saloons Early 60s St Mary's Trophy [HD] - YouTube (Mini vs Jag = great race!)

I can't find TV coverage of the race with the Cobras, but here's some good footage from the spectator perspective. Look at how slippery it was! Goodwood Revival Meeting 2011 RAC Tourist Trophy Celebration (RAC TT race) Full HD! - YouTube

Donunder 11-29-2011 01:05 AM

One of the best "saves" you'll ever see is Jay Esterer in the Chinook-Chev getting it all wrong through the chicane in the last lap of the Whitsun Trophy race, tippy toeing along the side of the track on the verge of a huge lose, and then powering out of it-- just check the two big blackies he leaves behind!! Wonderful stuff.

I hope it's possible to get hold of the Cobra, etc, race though. The estimated worth of the grid was one hundred million Pounds!!! The weather was atrocious but the way both co-drivers of the winning Daytona Coupe manhandled it through the rain was just sensational. I was wondering to myself how the times would compare with some of our quick guys in their modern cars but running on the same type and width rubber. If a copy of this race can be found, have a look at the old-style four wheel drifts. Fair brought a tear to my eye it did.

Merv and Sharon 11-29-2011 02:09 AM

Great stuff and thanks Craig.

Donunder 11-29-2011 02:53 AM

Having another think about our guys up against theirs.....
Say we had Ash Wayne and Sneak in their open cars, and they had had Eddie Cheever and Jochen Maas in their lightweight 427s with hardtops, would modern engineering, especially the horsepower developed from modern engines and the advances in brakes and suspensions, overcome the aerodynamic deficiency and make for a close contest?
Guys if you ever get over to Goodwood, the time to aim for is 1 min 24 sec.

Buzz 11-29-2011 06:12 AM

Awesome, incredible racing! Goodwood is definitely getting shoehorned towards the top of the travel plan list!

BMK 11-30-2011 12:33 AM

Goodwood is a must but I think that the SAAC events are also a must.

Having been to a couple (Fontana Raceway California) I can only say it is hard not to get excited about 60 plus GT350 Shelbys racing around. Not to mention the genuine Daytonas and Cobras.

My list of if I had the money would soon add up to four or five cars from the SAAC event.
