"Georgette" when he's towing a trailer (In Drag).
|
Looks liek Georgette may have something else to drag soon.
I may be doing a deal to buy a restorable caravan. And here it is. http://i270.photobucket.com/albums/j...n/c4c9be6e.jpg http://i270.photobucket.com/albums/j...n/184ff428.jpg http://i270.photobucket.com/albums/j...n/fbdc01d4.jpg The interior is all there, although shagged (but will give me a template) Has a couch at the front that converts to a large single bed and a table at the back that converts to a small double bed. Kitchenette on the R/h inside and clothes cupboard on L/H side. It is a quest build caravan, trying to figure what model and year at the moment. What have I done. |
I saw a few caravans like that once.
It was at a demo derby, best use for them. |
"I may be doing a deal to buy a restorable caravan.
And here it is." What's the deal, how much are you charging to take it away Dave? |
Car trailer
Boxy, are you suggesting this may form the basis for your new fully enclosed cobra car trailer?
It may require some modification...but it would be cool!:) Spookypt |

spook: nice idea, do it boxhead! You could sleep next to your Cobra! |
Hadn't thought of making it an enclosed car trailer, I might have to do some measuring and see if it will fit over my current trailer.
|
Reading through some old threads - this is one of the best!
I encourage some others to dig up some 'classics' for us newbies to the forum...... |
Box, with your wagon, offroad racer, Corona, Cobra and caravan, I'm coming to realise that you're a certifiable madman...!
|
I remember this thread.
Isn't it odd the things that stay with you? Whatever became of the caravan Box? |
I did not end up buying the caravan (even though it was a mid 60's Viscount Valiant model). It is now a mobile coffee shop.
I let it go as I really would prefer a teardrop van. Yeah I think (and so does my wife) that I may be certifaibly mad, just cant help myself when it comes to toys. Having never had kids, I never had to grow up. I now own 2 RT Coronas and looking at a ute version in Adelaide. I am trying my hardest to not buy the ute, as I really only wanted 1 for Ronda. As much as I enjoy the off road car, reallity is I am too bloody old and unfit for it, so will look to get out of it at end of next season, with plans of having a dedicated drag car (Valiant of some sort), trying to downsize the fleet and get rid of some parts cars at the moment, instead of having 10 half finished, I would prefer 4 that are done and not require anything more than tinkering. The blue wagon is 3rd in line for a rebuild (Corona first, then Rodeo repower with V6 Commonwhore drivetrain) Then George will be back to bare metal and fixed properly, currently stocking up non NOS parts for George, including rear quarters and tailgate skin, full set of lenses etc. |
Boxy why not just an LS repower of the Rodeo... I hear they work well.
|
My Rodeo is an old TF, not sure it would fit.
I dont need that much power, just enough to tow the Cobra to Melbourne or Goulborn. These guys Welcome to V6 Conversation do a full conversion kit for about $2200 (website being changed so cant see much) George is just way too thirsty. Last trip to Winton and back was over $2k in fuel only |
Why not put the V6 in George?

There are about 200 Greeks who I know would remove my head for even thinking such a thing. Maybe later in the future a Hemi 8 from a 300c with overdrive auto will find a home between Georges chassis rails. |
LS all the way Dave!
|
Put an L98 in George, you can always put the original mopar back in later
|
Only modern engine swap would be
