Default Sun Tach

I am not sure, but did some early Cobra's have these fitted?

It is a 3 & 3/4 inch design

Dave, I don't recall any pod mounted tacho's, but Rinsey Mills book Original AC Ace & Cobra restorers guide says they used some Sun between csx2130 - 2200, but I assume they would have been 5" in dash. Most early 289's had Smiths or Rotunda and later had some Stewart Warner.

I have some pics of a car with sun tach fitted, it is a earlier version than this tach.

Dave the pics I sent are off csx2162 and after studying them see in fact it is a Dixco tach.I do know 2272 had a sun which looks at a glance the same
As mentioned not free standing but in the dash
2431 and 2259 have the 5 inch which I use in the Riverside. No 427 cars used sun.

Dave, these might be the pic's you have. It appears to be about 4 or 4.5" with an adapter used to mount it in the standard dash hole.

This is from another of Rinsey Mills' books. CSX 2155 & 2137 Le Mans Replicas
