i recon it would be a bloody tight fit but i vaguely recal doing a loom for a guy in vic
and he wanted the big white main coil plug relocated to under the exhaust manifold
so i lengthened it to run all along injector section towards front then curl down under the headers ans he basically fitted the coils under the headers
not sure how it went with heat but i guess custom headers might have been made for this but basically coils where fitted under headers or extractors then leads went from spark plugs around exhaust runners to coils which were mounted all together rather than
all seperate like ontop of rocker covers

Also not sure. A "sticky" thread on a Cobra Forum for Chevrolet? Now that's asking for real tolerance ...

sambo 09-19-2012 12:58 AM

Good threads don't need to be sticky to stay alive. :D

Guys I'm looking for some dry sump Valve covers I.e. no filler neck. Anyone know if they are interchangeable left to right? If so I prob just need 2 x passenger side covers. Are they different LS1 to L77?

Gav 07-26-2013 05:35 AM

You will just need two passenger side rocker covers Ash.
They are the same.

Towmaster 07-26-2013 06:08 AM

Anyone have a spare standard passenger side rocker cover they don't want a fortune for?

Aussie Mike 07-26-2013 06:33 AM

Yes they are interchangeable left to right. I'm running GMPP covers and they do one with a breather filler bung and the other with no holes at all. I just machined out the breather bung and welded in a screw on cap.

Cheers

Let me check Ash.

sambo 07-28-2013 10:33 PM

Anyone know where I can get an OVERSIZED bonnet scoop from?

Not sure about the scoop but I can get you a 14-71 blower...

Zedn 07-29-2013 02:10 AM

Checker plate oil catch can? Interesting look.

boxhead 07-29-2013 05:47 PM

I have one Ash, how urgent do you need it?

I fly away Thursday morning and have a bit on my plate, back home mid August.

Fitted the new valve covers and relocated the coils, which are now stacked vertically on brackets bolted to the back of the heads. Bought all the bits for custom spark plug leads and made them to correct lengths - thanks Marty Govett at Kenmer for helping out.

This highlights how many other things need sprucing up in the engine bay - one thing at a time I keep telling myself. :3DSMILE:

Looks like the engine block might be from the factory but that's about it!

Gav 08-27-2013 06:16 PM

Looking good Sambo.
Some billet fuel rails and a dipstick will fit in there really nice!

Thanks Gav, I'm just getting started. :D

I think I'll go with the Holley fuel rails. I like the look of the black braided hose and AN fittings too.

So d488y2, you got a thing for cross ram...... nice finds.

One of my all time favorites is the one from the USA street machine of the year 2009 with the Kinsler set up.
