I have some of the billet adaptors to fit and use with AN fittings, just got to get around to fitting. They look cool (all billet does) and I am sure do the same thing anyway.
Good find from Summit for a kit. |
How many cross ram intakes to suit square port heads are out there? Anyone done any research on this?
|
Tow,
Not many, Jenvey, TWM, Borla, Harrop, Morrison Oz, Ozmo, and my favourite Kinsler, Harrop also had a beautiful Carbon Fibre unit fitted to a couple of HSV 427 Monaros, but they wont make them any-more. There may be others, but thats about all i can remember. Dave **Edit, just had a look, seems Borla now own TWM as well. |
A mate runs Kinsler on his off road buggy.

Here's what I have done for my oil pressure sender. I removed the factory one and decided to use the same location. The sender is 1/8 NPT of course, and the factory location is M16. I contemplated just using adapters but the sender doesn't really fit in there (hits intake manifold). A right-angle adapter would help but it would get quite long M16 -> AN6 -> AN4 -> NPT and might snap with vibration, so I put in a short piece of -4 hose and the sender is mounted to a convenient bracket with a large P-clip.
The piping is M16/AN6 adapter, AN6/4 reducer, AN4 hose, AN4/NPT right-angle. http://www.clubcobra.com/photopost/u...G_00000371.jpg http://www.clubcobra.com/photopost/u...G_00000377.jpg Also the blue thingo is a silicon end-piece that I got off ebay to plug what is normally for the brake booster (I'm not running a booster). I have 9 more of these end-pieces, if anyone wants one just shout. |
Ben, I am pretty sure you will need to keep the original operating as well, From memory the ECU reads from it (but I may be wrong in saying that)
|
I checked that with sideshow, he reckons it's not required. (water temp is required).
|
My ECU doesn't use it.
Modena you should have sung out you needed a cap. I could have sent you the one of mine. I'm guessing are not expensive though. |
thanks zedn, yeah it was only a couple of bucks for 10
|
I would keep the original one if possible,
At the very least it makes it possible to data log through you OBDII port. Just a thought... |
Ls1s run piss all oil pressure so u dont need an oil gauge hehehe

All Cobra owners I have met are not like your rice boys, we don't have the attention span of a 6 month old puppy. We don't need to see a gauge bounce around like Steady Eddie playing with a Yoyo. I for one am very happy if the only gauges in my car that move are the tacho and the speedo. The reason for running a gauge is so you know when it has NO oil pressure. Its not there to watch the needle move from one side to the other...... o_O I do love your skills and knowledge though on electrical stuff and the assistance you give. |

Yes well, that's another one for my ignore list %/. That's two now.
I enjoy spirited debate on this forum and clever light-hearted banter always makes me smile. I realise there was some mild provocation in this case but surely not sufficient to prompt such a foul and vitriolic response. Sideshow, as Box himself said, you are no doubt highly skilled in the work you do and you have proven to be a reliable source of information to members seeking assistance with electrical concerns, but mate you lost me with your last outburst. Maybe you were having a bad day and this post was out of character, I don't know, but perhaps a cooling down period before hitting the submit button would have been advisable. This is a pretty conservative site where others' opinions are respected, and to my mind there's no place here for reprehensible posts like your last one. |
I took sideshows initial post as a joke, didn't look like it was intended to have a go at anyone. Looked like box head was the one having a bad day. Is this all just a misunderstanding?
Sideshow is one of the small number of people on here I wouldn't block as he provides great advise. I should have listened to him on my wiring loom. |
I was the one who made the joke so y don't u have a go
at the stuck up stick my head into everyone's business racist prick lucky I'm not black or Asian just cause I don't own a cobra and my **** doesn't stink I'm always to blame and the others can say what ever they want makes me laugh and trust me most others I know think the same |
