SOULMAN,
That episode was a re-run of a re-run of a re-run! In other words, it's been on before and I'll bet it will be on again. The aluminum body may have been a Kirkham but the indoor filming was done at Shelby and Tom's Motorsports in Las Vegas. The finished product was a fiberglass car, not an aluminum one. The finished car was CSX4858, which was shown at the end of the episode. The whole thing was a hoax!

So the one they sold was not even the aluminum one that the tow truck driver brought in?

I find this story odd. Pawn Stars did a season finale and discussed there most profitable sale of the year and he said he made 30 or 40K off the cobra. If it were all made up why would he ever elude to it in the first place as far as profit.

Unfortunately, I know all the parties involved except for the Pawn Star people and the tow truck driver. I know the owner of the blue finished fiberglass Shelby Cobra, CSX4858. I know the so called "expert" that supposedly "sold" Rick and the Old Man on what it would cost to finish the car. I know the owner of the shop where the work allegedly took place. They have a great shop, but they can't turn an aluminum body into a fiberglass body!!! Madmaxx, do you believe EVERYTHING you see on TV? It never happened!

I didn't know for sure it was a hoax, but the acting was so bad and the setup so perfect, that I was always very suspicious.
You know we'll probably see CSX4858 someday at auction touting it's famous provenance as the Shelby shown in Pawn Stars.
Should have the "stars" of the episode and series sign the glove box.

What a sham! It is annoying when continuation cars are passed off as a 60's build car!

I can't recall the full story, but wasn't a CSX3150 rebuilt in the US, only to find that the real one was already in Australia?
