Gavin,

I've had replies back from two fellow Cobra owners who would be willing to take a passenger for the track session. One is a very nice 289FIA with a 289 on Webers, but I don't know what the other one I'm afraid, although it is almost certainly a 289.

I think they'll both probably turn up here before too long so the can introduce themselves and make arrangements.

Looks like being a great event. I can't wait.

Paul

Awesome, thanks Paul.

About a year ago, I spoke with a young French lady who was from Tour, over here on a backpacking holiday. She had worked at both events and said that the Classic was a much better event than the 24hour race. I think she is right!

Without a doubt. I've "done" the 24 Hours nine time, but I no long go. There is an unsavoury loutish element that tends to go to get drunk and cause trouble.
The Classic is much more relaxed and gentlemanly.

If you like very gentlemanly events you should head over here for the Bathurst 1000.
I reckon it would give the 24hr' a run for its money.

Gav,

How many of you are there?
We have a pretty full itinerary for the weekend, including some great drives out and dinner at the old Porsche and Aston Martin team hotel a few miles south of Le Mans and also dinner at the famous Auberge des Hunaudieres on the Mulsanne Straight on the Saturday evening.
There is a possibility that you could join us for some of these excursions, subject to numbers, if you wished. There will be costs for the meals etc. of course but it would certainly add an extra dimension to your trip.
We're staying at a chateau in Avoise a few miles from the circuit, so logistics would need to be sorted.

Paul

The Cobra is all packed and "war paint" applied and we'll be heading off this afternoon.

Docford,
We'll be sure to come and say hello.

Well what an absolutely f$$king awsome weekend.
It would take hours to describe just how big an event it was, being able to walk around and poke you nose into an original Daytona, let alone see it REAL close up at full flight on the Mulsanne was just mind blowing.
The amount of cars on display at the event was mind numbing, the value of the cars would have run into several hundreds of millions of dollars.

A big thanks to Phil N, Phil M and Doc for coming and sharing such an experience, also thank's to Baz for the awesome ride Friday night, Bill for allowing us to join your group for tea Saturday night, what a venue, and Paul for getting us in contact wih you all.
