Merv, my guess would be that Rob is selling that Robnell on behalf of a customer.

You are correct Craig, the Robnell belongs to a CCCV member known here at Club Cobra as Aussie Joe.

I recently sent around an email to CCCV members alerting them to the listing at Joe's request.

I've owned a couple of Robnells and know that car very well, if my numbers come up on Saturday I have Joe on speed dial.

In the meantime, if the numbers don't come up I've been thinking about the Superformance (do they ever answer calls or emails) or factory 5 cobra and GT40 replicas. Will call you on my next visit to Qld Craig.

At the Dingman collection auction a few weeks ago a BRG Autokraft car went for $175,000. The Autokraft cars were built originally under license by the AC company in England. Autokraft eventually purchased AC outright with FoMoCo and continued to build these cars out of aluminum on the same body bucks as the original AC cobras. I have an AC Cobra Mk IV like this car and it is a fine machine of a high quality and finish. The Mk IV cars took 2000 man hours to complete. Most Cobra books include the Mk IV in the Cobra lineage of the original cars. I did not pay as much for my car but still a high price. Seems the price of the Mk IV cars is going up as people realize the lineage of these cars and the low number built.

I've seen these get prices higher than what I would pay, but unless it has some history that would command the money (like if it was Jack Roush's go to church every Sunday car, etc...) I do not think they will get the $175 large.

I guess it shows that a well credentialed Cobra, with a Ford motor, will sell at a good price.

I was mistaken in my earlier post. The Dingman Mk IV sold for $170,500 at the recent RM Auction.

Guys just an update.

I was up at Absolute Pace last week.

The white GT40 has gone happy new owner.

Craig still has a great SLC coupe there in red. Ricardo gearbox and all new 350. Think he said that his GT40 kit is only weeks off.

I saw the first of the GT40 bodies there along with his Cobra bodies they are very good.

Prices for Cobra Mk IVs have shot up recently, driven by the increased demand for such cars in the Far East, particularly China and the realisation that, compared with the vintage Cobras, these cars are good value for money. One car recently fetched $170,000 US at auction.
