Default LeMans Classic

Just thought a few of you might be interested to hear about another European racing event this year that a small group of us will be attending.

http://www.lemansclassic.com/en/s01_...01p01_home.php

This is a bi-annual event show casing race cars from nearly all of last century.
The cars are split into classes by age, and the eight classes race 3 times each over 24hours.

This year is celebrating 'America at LeMans', no guessing what kind of cars will be focused on there!

Only 77 sleeps to go...

Great idea, about 300 metres running start should be a real challenge and add to the event.

Hi Gav,

Are you attending this years Classic then? If so are you camping or hoteling? There's a fair few from the UK Cobra replica club (myself included) going this year.

Going in the Cobra also, so i'm crossing everything that she makes it there and back lol

Would be great to meet up with any one else planning on attending

Gary

I'll be going in my Cobra with other members of the 289 Register. We've rented a chateau a few miles from the circuit, so we're doing it in style.

It's a fantastic event, second only to the Goodwood Revival IMO.

Hi guys,
The four of us are staying in the 'flex hotel' village on site.
All of us have cobras or are between cobras so would love to catch up and have a good look at how you guys do things.

Perhaps we might even have a quiet drink while we decide which of the LeMans cobras we like best?

I have a polished Kirkham with number "89"?

Introduce yourselves and say hello. I think we'll be parked up on the Bugatti loop behind the pits complex during the day as we have infield passes for the cars and a track session on the Friday evening.

Not with me I'm afraid but I do know that some of the other members are travelling alone so it wouldn't hurt to ask them when you're there and maybe make a donation towards the fuel cost.
Once I know where our allocated parking is, I'll post the details up here.

I've sent an email to the organiser asking is there are any spare seats, so I'll report back when I get a reply.

We have an SRV8 (southern Roadcraft, now Madgwick) cobra, which wants to grow up to be a Kirkham (so she's currently not as posh or shiny as Pauls - lol )

She should have a No. 50 on the sides by then also.

We're camping at Karting Nord with the rest of the Cobra Replica Club Mob, so come and pay us a visit

Default Le Mans Classic 2012

Bonjour à tous,

I'll also be at le Mans Classic, with the French Cobra Club (Cobra Cub de France : CCF). About 36 cobras will be displayed, at the "Garage Vert" close to the Bugatti track, next to the UK Cobra Replica Club reserved aera.

If you're in the area, come and see us, we'll certainly be happy to share a glass of some typical french red beverage with you ...

Amicalement

My Cobra appears on the official Le Mans Classic website (albeit quite small).

That looks nice and shiny Gary. I looked at the SRV8 when I bought my Contemporary getting on for 20 years ago. I don't know where they are based now, but they were just up the road from my in-laws in Hove.

Default Bike

Gav,

Looks like a great event! Better than the 24 hour!!!
Wouldn't be hard

Have you thought about renting/buying bikes?
The track is so big & there is buggar all transport internally.
We got a couple from Carfour ( this is a mix between Dan Murphy,
Kmart,Coles, JB Hi Fi & Rays outdoor ) they have everything!!
And cheap!
We paid €99 each for a new 20 speed cross bike! Best thing we purchased
All holiday. We had the camper with bike rack attached & used them
Everyday. We gave them to the last camping park we stayed at as a gift.

Have a ball & take heaps of pic's

STIFFY
