Found it...

I convinced my wife to drive from San Fran to LA because of the magnificent views along Big Sur.. After spending a night in Monterey we head off. Hours and hours of driving....and saw....well...the picture speaks a thousand words.

Very nice...It could be like anywhere along the south coast road in NSW or VIC.....Just jealous.

For some reason, the photo shows more than we could actually see (due to sea mist) which was about 20 metres in front of the car. We saw nothing. Hours and hours and hours of absolutely nothing the whole way along Big Sur (blur). The mist did clear and we found some beach with literally thousands of sea lions on the beach...near Sam Simeon from memory.

Lovely area. We lived in Santa Monica when Eastwood (pre his strange, 'talking to the chair' days) was mayor. Great drives north and south. No Cobra in those days unfortunately.

That's right the digital camera DOES lie. I took a picture at work recently where the area was full of steam and black soot...It looked like the classic shot of hell. The photo came out like a nice sunny day....very disappointed.
