nfi about the first guy either but no.3 is Derek Bell, one of the greatest sports car drivers of all time with I think five Le Mans titles to his name in the 70s and 80s and a few World Sportscar championships as well. He is probably best known for his results in Porsche 962s. He and co-driver Jackie Ickx shared many victories in endurance races.
Hope he's at Goodwood this year.

First guy looks like Chip Ganassi, Indycar team owner.

Herr Stiffness
End of this week is our turn at Goodwood. Will be taking a lot of photos for posterity.
However our last day in London featured a visit to the RAF museum.
Took a few snaps just for you Mr Junkers.
Your car, your plane?? Stuka boy

and the Spitfire in one of its many variants

Hoping to also see both the latter two aircraft at Goodwood too with luck.

Planes....
Hey Slowly,
Great photo's........
I just love the Stuka wing shape, hence the number plate.
I think the P-51 is the nicest looking WW2 American plane ( closely followed
by the Corsair ).
On the way back from Pebble we stopped at Hawaii for 10 days, Pearl Harbour etc, my first look up close at the famous Jap Zero, bloody small plane with no fire protection, no wonder they all squint
I will be showing the PB photo's at the October Cobra Meeting, maybe we can do a double act.......

I am planning on making that meeting perhaps we can.
I'm no techno-phobe but if we can get my laptop hooked up anything is possible. Or burn the images to a disc I guess instead.
Gotta go we are off for a beer in Beer down near Seton!
Ciao

Where is the actual event held? Is it on or near PB Golf Course? Im pretty familiar with the whole Monterey Peninsula / Pebble Beach /17 Mile drive area and always wondered exactly where the event was located?

Pebble Beach
HSV,
The event is held in the golf course.
The Concours is on the 18th green and the presentation is held infront of the
Club House.
The most beautiful view WITHOUT the cars.

You don't from memory get to see the club house from the beach unless you are on foot. The road 17 mile Drive takes you along the coast and it seems to just end in the middle of houses and side residential streets.
When Pebble Beach show is on you don't get into the central car park as it is all closed off.
Carmel just next to the concourse is also a great opportunity to see the cars as they are parked in the streets there also. It's a great little town with tons of gift shops and lots of art galleries.
Clint Eastwood was the former Mayor there and his young wife publishes a very good community magazine - any wonder the town attracts such quality cars and wealthy people. Great place to visit for those that live out of the area.
Would recommend the coast road down from the north - beautiful winding roads, panoramic scenery.

Highway 1 between LA and San Fran is the Great Ocean Road of the US.
It's a great drive and I recommend it is added to the bucket list of drives.
